apparently some of us with lyme are unable to detoxify biotoxins because a specific genotype. Has anybody had this HLA genetic testing done? What did you ask your doctor to do?
I believe this is Dr. Shoemaker's research. Another question is that if you have this specific genotype and are unable to dexofy biotoxins, which include lyme and mold toxins, how do you know which biotixin is causing your illness? Mold or lyme?
Also, what's the difference between this and methylation cycle issues? There are also test that determine the liver's genetic ability to detox? Anyone kow the difference between this and the HLA? I'm really confused (my lyme fog is incredibly horrible)
What kind of treatment did you do if you have this genotype? Was it successful?

My LLMD ordered it at my request, but had no idea what to do with the results when they came in so it really didn't yield much. Many expect you to go to Dr. S - the man himself - if you have abnormalities.
Treatment seems to consist of many things. Dr S in his book Mold Warriors suggests a lot of things, but again most docs are unable to Rx them or knowledgeable enough to make a difference here. IF what he even says is totally valid!!

I have both issues. Methylation and the genotype for mold and Lyme.
All of these things need to be addressed, supplements for methylation. Neurotoxin binders for mold and Lyme. Remediation of mold (in the process of that now) and of course treating the infections. I have Lyme, Bartonella, and Babesia.
I have been in treatment for 16 months I will be going off abx when my house is clear of the mold. Mold also suppresses you immune system if you have mold issues.

KPU needs to be addressed along with all the other "suspected" abnormalities. Nothing as far as detoxing works well when KPU is positive. See other posts, if you are not familiar with it.
It also helps to rule out acquired or "born with" dysregulations by doing Allergie Immun. See posts. I was able to detox to some degree, but only after I did Allergie Immun was I able to start dumping the very deep toxic accumulations.

RCI- Can you tell me what the symptoms of mold issues are? Are there some good sites or would you take the time to explain all of the methylation and genotype components? I know I do not methylate right and I have issues with HLA. The one I am aware of is the HLA DQ2 celiac sprue gene. How can I find out the other issues I may have along with confirmed Lyme? I am in the middle of kidney stone issues and have not been able to stay on the Lyme drugs. I need to get the kidney taken care of and get back on the program. I want to see some progress
