Hello everyone,

I started treatment for Lyme for about 3 years

now. I wasn't treated for about a year as

intial primary care doctors insisted I had ring

worm as I had a rash on my back that was itchy,

circular and somewhat spread out but no bulls

eye and my lyme test was

neg.

So about 2 to 3 weeks ago my back started to

itch. Didn't think anything of it and thought

it might be dry skin. My husband couldn't tell

me as he has just been diagnosed as legally

blind due to Lyme (we have a house full of

lyme). So anyway, I went to infect dr. yesterday and

I said I think I have a rash on my back. He

looked and he said it's a perfect circle. I

couldn't believe it. He said I must have been

bitten again.

I'm wondering....it's not quite on the exact

same spot on my back as the first time, but it

is on my back. Can this rash just reappear?

Another Dr. told me it could but this one said

I would of had to get bitten again. Can anyone

give me an opinion on this. I am wondering b/c

it is February in Massachusetts and thought

there wouldn't be any ticks out and about. Am

I now back to square one with this?

Sorry this was so long
thanks in advance.

I am sorry your whole family is dealing with Lyme.

From what I understand, a bulls-eye rash can appear any time during an infection. Yes it is possible you were bitten again, but the appearance of the rash does not necessarily mean that you were.

Have you noticed any new symptoms?

I guess these aren't new symptoms as I had them in the beginning a few years ago, but not for a very long time. Dizziness a few times and as if my heart was fluttering.

I typically have pressure pain in my upper gums and jaw, but recently the pain has been very bad. Also some tingling in my face and legs which has been for the most part much better with my antibiotics until recently.

Do you have Babesiosis? It can cause dizziness and heart fluttering.

Be sure to get a photo of your rash and document the date. Place something near it, like a coin or ruler, before photographing to give it size definition.

Are you seeing a Lyme doctor? If so, make sure to tell him/her about the rash.

I think it's possible to have been bitten again or that the rash resurfaced from the same infection.

I found a tick on me already this February and I am farther north than MA.

Either way, just get after it!! Find an LLMD.
