i am having really bad gas and bloating, pain from gas...i did so many antibiotics for years! i was lazy about taking probiotics all the time..any way to rid this now that I am off of antibiiotics? my doc says that we can be allegic to lactose and lactose means other foods that you never thought had lactose! i am bieng checked for that..i am also getting a colonoscopy on the 29 and praying that everything will be ok! negative celiac test...so this bloating and rumbling is really bad if i eat any bread or things with yeast...so hoping its candida..im taking probiotics and qaudrupling the dose with two other probiotics to hopefully reastablish the colon probiotics and push the yeast out.. all yeast needs is water and it will make gas like crazy if you try to put dough in a glass and add water...the results will amaze you and that is what is going on in the gastro intestines! hope all of you are doing well old lymies like me and the newbies just discovering lymie and trying to make sence of it!

My doc restored my gut at the end of treatment. this was to be sure that all yeast was gone. It took one month.
He gave me Diflucan, Nystatin, and Florestor.
I had to stay on the anti-yeast diet for that month also.
I got yeast a number of times during my lyme treatment, but I always was able to get rid of it by taking Diflucan for a number of days (no more than a week).
I learned to stay very strict with the diet, and that is how I kept yeast away--no cheating AT ALL!!!!
But, everyone is different.
Probiotics, no matter how good or how much, will not get rid of a yeast infection. It can't "push the yeast out."
You need something that kills yeast--like Diflucan--to get rid of yeast. There is no way around that. No way.
Diflucan is the absolute best yeast killer that there is.
Also, I am lactose intolerant. What that means is that I no longer make the enzyme in my gut that is needed to digest milk. Since I can't digest it, the milk or milk product ferments in my intestine, causing terrible bloating, pain, and gas, just like a yeast infection. (Hey, it sounds like making beer!)
So, I take Lactaid every time I consume a milk product. Lactaid is the enzyme needed to digest milk.
There is a breath test to test for lactose intolerance. My gastro had me take this test. They give you a milk-type drink and then you blow into a plastic machine with a balloon every half hour.
The machine measures the amount of oxygen in your exhale. If you have milk in your intestines and can't digest it, you will exhale oxygen!
The test can go on for a number of hours, but they stopped mine right away because I had the highest number the nurse ever saw.
So, this is what you do to rule out lactose intolerance. There is also a fructose (fruit sugar) malabsorption problem. I have that also. It makes you bloat and have abdominal pain and gas when you eat fruit because, again, your intestines cannot absorb the fruit sugar, so it just ferments in there.
There is another simple test for that. They give you fruit sugar to drink and have you collect your urine in a container for the next 8 hours. Then, they look for something in the urine.
Anyway, these tests helped me diagnose my horrible bloating and pain problem that I had for many years before I ever got lyme. Any good gastro should order these tests for a person suffering with bloating and abdominal pain and gas issues.
However, the first "good" gastro I went to (head of the dept at his hospital) did NOT order these tests for me. So, I had to find another one who would.
The doctors don't make any money off of ordering these tests. But, they DO make money off of doing a colonoscopy on you. So, you have to find a doc who really is thinking of you and not his pocketbook. So sorry to have to say that.
If these tests don't find the source of your problem, I suggest you ask for the lactose intolerance test and the fructose malabsorption test.
Hope this helps you.

ME!!
STAY ON THE DIET LONG TERM .. ESP IF YOU ARE HAVING SYMPTOMS
Buy the best probiotics you can afford and take at least 100 billion CFU's per day.

That would be me too! I never cheated on the diet....ever. Still ON the diet even though I've been off ABX for a year and a half.
I can't even eat fruit without getting candida.
I take 6 capsules of probiotics a day, yeast killers, garlic.
I'm going to introduce kefir. I don't know if it will help but it can't hurt. Wish I was consuming kefir during treatment.

My last lyme doc required me to drink kefir (as does Burrascano). I made my own for almost the last year of my treatment.
I think it is a wonderful food for health, whether you have lyme or not. I enjoyed it also.
I think the homemade kefir is the best tasting and likely the best for you. A coworker from Russia told me that he was raised on it. Children where he is from drink milk half the time and kefir half the time. They believe it ensures digestive health. It may also contribute to a longer life.

Candida issues???
As long as you have not treated parasites sufficiently, toxic heavy metals are remaining in the body and with that also the YEAST. All three go hand in hand. Where there is one, there are the others.
Stopping to eat the best foods is not the permanent answer.
Ruling out KPU, treating parasites who are at the base of all this will help you clear yeast/candida.
Alive ones are in the Small Intestine. Only the dead parasite corpses live in the gut. The parasite treatment needs to go way beyond a colon cleanse. It has to include substances that also clear the brain and central nervous system of the parasites. Babesia is a parasite and Bartonella acts like one also. Parasites and larvae also live in the brain. Bartonella live in the tonsils.
Borrelia, herpes, EMF open the blood brain barrier.
Treat parasites if you want to improve and get well.
All of this was emphasised again this last weekend at a 3 day seminar in NY that lasted until late at night. Dr. J. present.
Take care.

Die-off of fungi/yeast cause the worst symptoms I can think of. Anytime you kill, you have die-off, and that means to go heavy with binders all the time.
Herxheimers are minimal if you prepare with binders to catch the neurotoxins. It is not the bugs that make us sick ---- it is the neurotoxins that our own body releases.
From my own experience, fungi die-off is the worst! Stop killing and increase/concentrate on binders to move things out.

What binders are the best?

GiGi,
Did Klinghardt go into detail on his current parasite approach? Curious if any of it has changed
Posted by GiGi (Member # 259) on :
No, his approach is the same. But do understand that all patients that are directly under his care or the people who treat in similar ways as he does always test the people energetically as the agents are used. I recommend that you learn to test yourself and you can save yourself a bunch of mishaps and problems. There are many different methods -- tensor, pendulum, O-ring testing, etc. It is so worth the effort!!!!!!
