I saw in the book "Healing Lyme" that Astragalus is contraindicated in chronic Lyme. I guess we misread this at first, bc hubby was using it for about a month bc he knew it was supposed to be good for the immune system (at least for most people).
Has anyone had experience with using Astragalus? Did it cause a worsening of your symptoms? Or has it helped anyone?

- It just was FAR too stimulating for me - before I knew why. No damage but just really unpleasant.
Together with other herbs in a formula, though, I do fine. All about balance. -

Sometimes the immune system is already overworking to get well. Some herbs can "boost" the immune system & this isn't really what you want for some conditions.
It's probably better to find something that modulates the immune system rather than boost it.
