Today I had my first accupuncture appt. It lasted one hour and also included heat and massage.

He said that usually after 3 appts, people see some kind of improvement.

It went well. He said I will be more sore for a couple days and not to exercise much this week since my muscles need to rest and heal now.

He also recommended a Pain Stick that contains peppermint oil, cinnamon oil, Daemonorops resin, skullcap root, and licorice root in a base of beeswax and pure veg oil.

He is very busy right now because our local paper did an article on him a few weeks ago, so I go back in 2 weeks.

I hope to see some good results. Time will tell.

I would be lost without my accupuncturist. I do not have Lyme, but I have been a housekeeper/janitor for decades and he keeps me humming along.

It is a journey and not a quick fix, but well worth the time and commitment.

So happy you get to go!

I LOVE acupuncture. I never was the type of person to believe in alternatives to conventional medicine. I thought it was quackery until I got bit a few years ago (I didn't know I had lyme at the time, was just very weak and ill). It got me through lyme when I was undiagnosed.

I lucked out and got a great acupuncturist right from the start. I noticed improvement immediately. My acupuncturist said that it helps about 50% of the people she sees, and the other 50, it doesn't seem to affect them. Every visit I get something called "accu stoned". Ha ha! I love it!

Acupuncturists work on whatever is bothering you. Every time I go in she asks me what hurts and fixes it. Doesn't matter what it is, she fixes it. Fatigue, anything. Even if I have yeast, she knows exactly where to stick me to get rid of it (temporary but better than a pill).

My husband can always tell when I have it. He says I'm much more pleasant that day (ha ha)! I was seeing her every week, but I have to see the chiro lately (hurt my back), and have bursitis. My chiropractor is awesome too.

I encourage every person on the planet to try it. I will never give it up.

Thanks for all the encouragement back2game, momindeep, Lymetoo and Catgirl!

I am praying for relief.

It's good to hear from people who have had postive results! Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Yes, by all means keep up the acupuncture. Will he do chinese herbs too?
I found improvement after about 3 visits and it kept getting better. It didn't plateau. I am in my 7th month-now on bimonthly visits, was doing weekly when I was very sick. When done well it is amazing.

Good for you Dekrator! It should help you feel better soon [Smile]

I also enjoy acupuncture. It hasn't healed me but I do believe that it helps me. After my appts I feel so much better in general. I have less pain. I wish that I could receive acupuncture every day!

Wow, that's great, Igor's mom!

He is also an herbalist. I take SO MANY things right now that I don't know if I should add anything else.

What chinese herbs have you used and did it also help?
