Quick background- Was diagnosed with Lyme about 8 months ago by LLD doctor (my bloodwork was negative). Was put on various abx for 7 months and saw improvement in symptoms, which included:
I'm a health and fitness guy and I was getting leery of taking meds for so long. Went to get second opinion by Lyme "expert" who said I should get off the meds and manage each symptom individually.
Which brings me to my question. Can those of you with experience please recommend any herbal and nature supplements that I could add to my diet? What do you recommend I try to keep the above mentioned symptoms at bay.
Thank you in advance for your help.

- We all used to be "leery of taking meds for so long" - then we got hit with one of the most toxic infections known to man so we have our own internal toxin factories just from spirochetes.
Add to that the typical other 2-4 infections that go with lyme for each person and we need to be aggressive in addressing this.
Were you assessed for other tick-borne infections?
There's medicine that works and other stuff that does not. Good medicine can include Rx and supplements.
Lyme is an absolutely devastating infection and you need the BEST medicine you can get, guided by the very best LL doctor you can find.
You are at least in a state where there are both LLMD and LL NDs (naturopathic doctors). I will say that most LL NDs often incorporate antibiotics.
See the very best ILADS-educated holistic MD or LL ND you can find for a comprehensive approach that will not just try to "keep this at bay."
The goal is to reach a good solid and long remission. That usually takes a couple years (or longer). Sorry this is such a complex deal. -

Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:
Understanding of the importance of addressing the infection(s) fully head-on with specific measures;
Knowing that support supplements are important, but NEVER enough alone. And knowing which supplements have direct impact, which are only support and which are both.
You can compare and contrast many approaches.

- After all that - please be sure to copy and paste to your personal research file - while you wait to get into a LLMD or LL ND, here is where I would begin based on where you said you worked (in a previous post):

Numbness or Loss of Sensation is BArtonella based on Dr JS that wrote a book on bartonella.
I treated it and it came back and now I might need to treat it again.Antibiotics can reduce the bug but never eradicate it.I have tried High HH capsules that put me in remission of all your symtoms but the car accident brought it back.

If it were me, I'd be sticking to the anti-yeast diet, taking tons of probiotics, and things like oil of oregano to treat it. Regardless of how good your diet was while on antibiotics, yeast is unavoidable after you've spent numerous months on abx.
Additionally, if you are concerned you have not treated lyme long enough, you could also try Cat's Claw (toa free) - Allergy Research sells capsule form called Prima Una de Gato.

I second Keebler's referral to Buhner herbs above. Steven Buhner's book, "Healing Lyme" is an excellent read. That and his sites Keebler mentions above can get you started on Buhner herbs.
The yahoo discussion site is Lyme_AId_Buhner - lots of helpful discussion there for those treating that way.

Low magnesium can cause palpitations, sensitivity to light and sound, and many other symptoms. (I looked through your other posts and you stated those symptoms.)
The Lyme bacteria live in our cells and use up our magnesium, which the cells need for all enzyme processes. Plus, the liver needs magnesium to make glutathione to detoxify poisons.
. Neurogenic bladder can cause urinary hesitancy and other difficulties. The nerves to the bladder are somehow affected, but as far as I know, regular medicine does not have an answer for this. The Lyme bacteria live in the nerves, so I suspect that may be involved in the problem.
D-Mannose can help with some urinary problems. Read reviews for it at iHerb.com for the experiences of others. http://www.iherb.com/D-Mannose
. For joint pain, I have a couple suggestions. Systemic enzyme therapy, and fish oil. These reduce inflammation and pain, and I have noticed a HUGE reduction of pain while taking them.
Wobenzym is a blend of enzymes that has been in use in Europe for many years, where physicians prescribe it for arthritis, cancer, etc. It is over the counter in the U.S. but most doctors don't seem to know about it yet.
You can google for information, e.g. wobenzym pain. There are other enzyme blends too, and you can look for reviews at iHerb and at Amazon.com.
. For fish oil, you need pharmaceutical quality, which is expensive. Look for an oil with a high ratio of EPA, which will reduce inflammation and pain, and will help the brain cells work better and improve concentration and memory.
Aim for 2000 mg of EPA daily, maybe more. OmegaBrite Country Life Omega 3 Mood Minami Nutrition MorEPA
. The Lyme bacteria live in our cells, which causes inflammation throughout the body. This reduces bloodflow to the cells and causes brain fog and pain.
You can take antioxidants to help reduce this. The systemic enzymes and the fish oil should help the tinnitus, or ringing in the ears. There is also a supplement designed specifically for the ears, and when I find it again, I'll post it.
