----------- 2-20-12 - I had a nice phone conversation with Randy, the compounding pharmacist who makes this at Infuserve America. He's very interested in lyme and his being able to obtain this has helped some LLMDs get this to their patients.
He has attended some of the ILADS conferences - (he noted one in California where he met several LL NDs from my state). He's been in direct communication with Dr. H, who has the most knowledge of this for babesia.
He said he will be glad to email or talk with anyone who has a question.
They have it in stock now.
It MUST be ordered by one's MD or ND (or a doctor with similar medical credentials).
Patients cannot order this themselves
(this differs from the other two suppliers: Woodland Essence and Green Dragon Botanicals - both of which are currently - and often - out of stock due to supply limits.)
A one month supply in a pharmaceutical-grade substantial weight, amber plastic bottle.
One 450-ml bottle is $90.
3-day shipping included - that measures out to the top dose of 1 tsp. 3 x day, a one month supply.
In Stock, as of yesterday and he expects their supply to be okay (paraphrasing here).
They make this a bit differently by adding some ESSENTIAL OIL OF PEPPERMINT to improve the taste. No artificial flavors, though, he assures.
Infuserve America's tincture may be darker than the other two suppliers' of this as sometimes they make it from a concentrated powdered root, rather than "steeping" the root for themselves (but that is also done there at times). -

I haven't tried it yet, but just wanted to say don't forget about sida acuta (some people like it better).

What I want know is IS IT WORKING FOR ANYONE???
These experts recommend a lot of things, but I would love to read " Wow , this supplement or drug is REALLY working ! " . Not often the case and it is hard not to become skeptical.

I have been on Crypto and think I am much better than I was last year.
That said, I have a way to go, but grateful for it because regular ABX's hurt my stomach.
I have an yeast issue and I hear this does not promote yeast.

How do you take the crypto? It was so horrible tasting when mixed with water. And I would be afraid to take sublinqually due to the burning it would likely cause? Any idea if it can be mixed in something to tone down the bitter taste and still be effective?
Posted by cozynana (Member # 34270) on :
I just chugged it. I know it tastes bad, but other Lyme symptoms have been much worse to me.
Posted by dbpei (Member # 33574) on :
cozynana, are you feeling at all better since starting the crypto?
Posted by cozynana (Member # 34270) on :
Three things have helped me. First herbal parasite products, nystatin, and crypto.
Those are the things I was on that kicked me out of my funk this summer/fall.
That said I herxed on all or part of this.
I didn't feel wonderful, but at least I could keep up right and keep going.

Glad you are on an upswing. I hope you keep feeling better. Posted by annxyzz (Member # 20404) on :
Thank you for sharing cozy . The things that I feel sure have helped me to some REAL degree : artemesia annua Herb Pharm ( better than artimisinin for me !)
grapefruit see extract drops ( cheap) Ivermectin / praziquantel ( equine version cheap ) taken every other day . Has made a huge difference with breathing !
Coptis herb drops - herb pharm
What these all have in common is that they target parasites , I believe . Possibly the reason ABX do not work for so many is because a parasite ( or more than one ) is undetected with lyme . My humble guess anyway .
I have tried sida acuta , got a herx , but still am not sure it has made a difference .

- When considering herbal / nutritional / adjunct methods:
if at all possible - because each person & each case is different - it's best to consult with an ILADS-educated LL ND (lyme literate naturopathic doctor) (or similar) who has completed four years of post-graduate medical education in the field of herbal and nutritional medicine -
- and someone who is current with ILADS' research & presentations, past and present, and has completed the ILADS Physician Training Program (see: www.ilads.org )
Many LL NDs incorporate antibiotics (depending upon the licensing laws in their state). Some LLMDs and LL NDs have good working relationships.
When possible, it's great to have both a LLMD and LL ND and even better when they have a long-standing professional relationship.
Be aware that integrative doctors can have various levels of formal herbal &/or nutritional education, perhaps even just a short course. Do ask first. Some have learned on their own from experts in the field. There are many ways to acquire knowledge and most are eager to share basic details about their training. You want someone with a deep knowledge.
Some of the specialities above may not actually treat lyme yet, for things such as physical adjustments, it is just good that they are also LL, at least to some degree (to know never to suddenly twist the neck or spine).
Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:
Understanding of the importance of addressing the infection(s) fully head-on with specific measures from all corners of medicine;
knowing which supplements have direct impact, which are only support and which are both.
