The most classic symptoms for Babesia are air hunger, sweats (usually at night), and bad dreams from what I gather.
I have only had the sweats two nights in five years.
I haven't ever had air hunger.
But, my spleen is enlarged and somtimes my muscles feel really weak. I used to attribute this to toxins.
Most of my treatment efforts to this point have been targeted at Bart and Borrelia. I'm wondering if I should be doing something for Babs since I don't seem to have the classic symptoms.
Would like to know others' thoughts.

I had no "classic" symptoms of Babesia until I treated for it. Then I had them all.
I would consider muscle weakness and enlarged spleen to be "classic Babs."
The three Bs (Borrelia, Bartonella, Babesia) roam together. Most of us have all three.
Honestly, what have you got to lose by trying Babesia treatment? It's a good way to rule in/rule out.

Yeah, I came up pos in blood testing for babs, but not for bart, but still want to talk with my LLMD abt trying a bart medication at some point just in case. Might as well try it out, right?
I def. have air hunger, but haven't really had night sweats. It's so weird how everyone is so different.

You do not have very much sweating with babesia duncani. It is microti that brings on the profuse sweating.
I did not realize I had babesia until two years into treatment. Then it really hit me hard. Best to treat before that happens.

I had no classic Babs symptoms and this was one infection I swore I didn't have. Until five years into treatment I rifed for Babs and had the worst Herx ever.
A year and a half later (with many interuptions in treatment due to personal stuff) I'm still fighting this stupid germ.
I tested negative so can't get a prescription for the pharmaceutical treatments.

I really had no symptoms of babs or bart, but I tested positive for both through Igenex.
When I treated babs, things really went crazy. I got a weekly flare that was out of this world.
I had microti. Never had night sweats or sweats of any kind, no air hunger, no nothing. My extreme muscle weakness was attributed to lyme.
The trouble is that there are "sub-clinical" infections according to Burrascano. This means that the infection is there but to such a low degree that the signs of it aren't there. The lyme symptoms are often predominant.
That's why the best lyme docs now just automatically treat every single lyme patient for the big 3 as they call them--lyme, babs, and bart.
That's what I recommend for you also.

I have treated with the doug coil a few times for babesia. Did the 29-minute full-body session right off the bat. Didn't get a herx.
Although......there is a possibility that I got a delayed herx a number of days later that I might not have attributed to the Babs tx.
I'll try it again and see what happens. Thx.
Oh, and by the way, another possible symptom that I have had is pain between the ribs near the sternum.
And sometimes, out of the blue, with no offending injury or activity, my lower back would just go haywire. Just start hurting and aching as if I pulled something, when I didn't. I don't know if that's Babesia or Lyme.
The fx that I used on the coil was 570. I don't know whether that's for duncani or microti. I also don't know another frx for whatever the other strain is, unless it's 1583?

I figured out I had babesia when I started keeping record of my daily symptoms and noticed a 5 day flare.
My babesia symptoms have appeared more since I started treating babesia.
Oh, and when I figured it out and started treating bart AND babs together, that's when I made great strides of improvement.
My symptoms of babesia have been...
* very mild air hunger
* lower back pain - at the top of my butt
* sore jaw that goes down into my neck and then into my shoulders, with pain and tightening between the shoulders sort of starting at the spine and reaching out
* weakening of neck muscles right where I swallow - clicking when swallowing, choking on liquid and spit, snoring, feeling like my throat is collapsing when lying down
* headache, sometimes migraine, vice grip or throbbing one side to other including behind the eyes, and sometimes feel like a blade stabbing in the middle of my brain
* sore bottoms of feet any time of day, not just morning
* fatigue, like someone's sucking energy out of me, heavy leg and arm muscles
* brain fog, like someone threw cotton balls into my head, poor memory, poor noun recall
* feeling hot in the mornings when everyone else is chilly
* shoulder pain (but this might be bartonella, not sure)
All these symptoms have gone away with babesia treatment.

My symptoms were:
chills (slight)
muscle pain
headaches
on the boat feeling (dizzy)
EXTREME fatigue
brain fog .. but that could be from Lyme also

17hens, I remember the weak throat/neck muscles way back a few year ago when I had my first symptoms. The weak feeling is gone, but now I have soreness in those muscles that come and go.
I get dizziness too, but that's one of those universal symptoms that can be any one of several things.
The odd thing is that I have been sleeping pretty well through the night for the past year or so. I guess that's a good thing.

17 hens, you nailed it on the babesia, that air hunger is scary and nothing to fool with. get outside, I get confused with whats causing what, but your LD abx does NOTHING for babesia. Artemesin. thats what you need for the babs. I 'll haVE MY blood retested after rest of family gets started on treatment and tested, 3 girls and a wifey with a 20 year infection we discovered in summer 2011, I knew previously, but she refused to go as do many of your sig others im sure, were inthis together.
