When we take anti-inflammatory supplements (fish oil, curcumin, ibuprofen, etc.), does that stop the damage or just disguise the symptoms?

I'm back on antibiotics after being off for a long time b/c my joints are swelling. They didn't for the first 4 years of lyme.

Although I've been back on abx for 6 months, the swelling and pain in my joints is increasing.

How do I stop the damage? suggestions?

Ibuprofen "tricks" the brain more or less and can constrict the blood supply so that is not good in my opinion. It can also be very hard on kidneys because of how it limits circulation.

Antioxidants can help prevent some damage by gobbling up the free radicals.

But, if the cause is infection, anti-infective agents must also be used along with the anti-oxidants.

They should be timed hours apart, however.

Not sure how fish oil works for this topic but it is very important in many ways (but will not directly address infection).

A search on FISH OIL, KRILL OIL and OmegaBrite can provide details - or maybe someone has a good information link to explain it.

fish oil and curcumin should be great for joints

but my LLMD told me a long time ago that NSAIDS were NOT good for our joints
