I have been to two PT's and they both have said it may be very difficult to help me without causing more pain do to the muscles being so tight. Any one have any luck with anything for this problem?

I wonder if transdermal Magnesium Chloride spray would help. I got mine from Swanson. It really seems to help any times my muscles ache. A noticeable difference. Same for my husband.

Also, I think a lot of stretching, walking, moving would be very important to bring circulation and oxygen into the muscles. So important. I would put this at the top of the list. Can't wait until you are "in the mood". You just have to do it (like every day).

I do plenty of walking and moving between working and taking care of 3 kids and two dogs. Stretching is tough due to all the pain I suffer after. There are so many muscles involved that are so tight and painful even walking hurts at times. The PT was amazed at how tight everything was. I am using Magnesium extended release tabs twice a day.

Yes, I have tried epsom baths, hot packs etc.

Yes, I have this exact problem. I need to take more epsom salt baths...as stupid as it sounds, many days they just seem to take too much effort.

Anyway, I tried getting massages, but the made things worse (because things were SO tight, they just got really sore).

My approach is to do as much as I can with stretching, baths, and maybe occasional very light massages. Then, when I get rid of the Lyme, hopefully things will relax a bit and I will be able to do more to get rid of it.

I too get muscle so tight walkiing, sitting, anything I do hurts. BUT- it has gotten slightly better in the last couple weeks. And I know that is 100% due to treatment for Lym,e

I take CoQ10 100mg twice a day and L-Carnitine 500mg each pm for muscle cramps. It seems to help more than my rx muscle relaxant.

Thanks finallylyme, I will have took look into those. I just don't know how many more des/supplements I can take. I feel like I am taking so much already. My doc had me trying neurontin, building up slowly. Last night I took 3 at bed time as advised and had a really tough time getting up this morning. She wanted me to try to build up to 6 a night, don't see that happening.

I find deep tissue massage really helps me. it does hurt more for a day or two...but then I am better and looser. if you can keep it up once a week it starts to last longer.

Also, i find if my epsom baths are too hot as good as it feels while I am in there... it is worse later on...the muscles retract worse than before.

Baclofen is used for spasicity...when the nervous system cause the muscles to tighten/lock.

Baclofen works differently than a regular muscle relaxer like Flexeril.

The amino acid Gaba helps relax the nerves too.

Seems like the amount of supplements, numerous times a day, are meals in and of themselves.

I used to think my muscles were tight due to lack of stretching. I found I was over flexible. My PT recommended core strengthening exercises and very little stretching. It helps. Let me know if u want exercise ideas
