I have passed several more large worms so I feel I am definitely on the right track. I am also feeling loads better.

But.....of course with this illness there is a but. The 2 worms I sent off to the lab came back negative. I literally put 2 worms in a container and the results were negative. I wish I could post pictures because it is as humorous as it is frustrating that these things could be anything other than worms.

So my doctor will not prescribe anything else. I did send him pictures but have not heard back.

If any one wants to pm me more info on the vet meds and where I can buy them and doses I would really appreciate it. I have tried to search but have not come up with where to purchase etc.

Please help

How can this happen?

I think labs look for eggs. When I worked for a vet 25 years ago, we'd do a fecal culture, swish the poo in a vial with a special liquid, then put a very small amount of that poo liquid under the microscope to look for eggs or larva.

I wonder if the worms decompose before they make it to a lab?

Dr. K said that years ago he witnessed a lab technician physically remove a worm from a stool sample, and then just tested the sample, not the worm.

In all honesty, we know more about parasites than most doctors. I think the whole thing intimidates them so they ignore/deflect/deny.

You have to laugh or you will cry...it's so insane how we have to be our own doctors anymore.

If I ever get out of the house (homeschooling), I'm going to tractor supply, the same place we get our chicken and rabbit feed.

Thanks for the info.

Those are both my accounts. I was unable to sign in or get my password so I started a new profile. I didn't even realize I was using the other profile. One was from my computer and one from my phone

Tractor Supply has many vet meds - cheap and so does amazon. I have bought a lot of ivermectin at Tractor supply ( cheapest is durvet qapple flavored ) . One syringe = about five doses .
