Does anyone know what a high monocytes mean in a blood test.
I started bicillin shots two months ago, had a blood test done last week, results show high monocytes.
I'm stressing does this mean anything?

High monocyte is part of the (white blood cells) a high count can indicate infection, often bacterial infection.
*mono-nucleosis virus
Chronic inflammatory disease
Parasitic infection
Tuberculosis
*stress
*inflammation and organ necrosis
I don't think it's uncommon for us to have high
monocytes counts with Lyme and Co's.
I remember mine were high at less once or twice in the past 4-5 years.
Your Doctor will look at the whole CBC counts to see if there is reason for concern...
