Just getting ready for my LLMD appt on Tuesday and I am reading through my results. ESR was on the higher side of normal. What are common ESR results with Lyme? Or, is it different for everyone?

Many of us have LOW sed rates. I was told that is because so many of us have hypercoagulation and that affects the test.

I have ITP so I am not sure of that would change things?

ESR blood test result depends on a person's age and gender.
- Men under 50 years old: less than 15 mm/hr - Men over 50 years old: less than 20 mm/hr
- Women under 50 years old: less than 20 mm/hr - Women over 50 years old: less than 30 mm/hr
It is different for everyone. ESR looks for Inflammation in your body, some of us test high, and some dont. Posted by T.Maria (Member # 36396) on :
I am under 50 and it was 19 mm/hr within normal range but on the higher end.
CRP was 1?
Thanks!

Pretty good CRP!
What is ITP?
Posted by T.Maria (Member # 36396) on :
ITP is idiopathic-thrombocytonpenia (sp..lol)
My platelet count is always on the lower end and it can get very low at times for unknown reasons.
Never had to be treated for it I just have to be monitored.

That explains the pain in my legs. I feel this tightness like very thick blood. My ESR just came back at 1. I am taking interfase plus. What has helped others with the hypercoagulation?

I have been dealing with hypercoagulation for over 10 years. All the doctors I have gone to put me on lumbrokinase.
Two docs liked Boluoke best and Dr.R the Allergy Research Group brand as it has been cleaned up so less bad reactions from it I would suppose.
My sed rate & CRP have always been normal. But I have had very high quantitative D- Dimer test results when not using lumbrokinase.
My leg pain increases at times if I forget to take it so reminds me. Anyway, that is my experience for what it is worth.

My CRP has been as high as 2.5, but usually is normal.
My ESR has been as high as 102, but has been hovering around 40-70 for the last 5 years or so...well above what is normal for most people...

My ESR is typically around 45 or so for the last 10+ years. I am 34 years old.
