You have very few positive bands (band 18 and band 41--which most people are positive for). I would think that Lyme is not the cause of your problems. Check out this website for other options: http://chronicfatigue.stanford.edu/

Do you have a known tick bite, or exposure to ticks through your job or hobby? What are your symptoms?

It is quite possible that you have Lyme.

Quoting Dr C in MO....

"In my clinical experience, if a patient has symptoms suspicious for borreliosis, and has one or more of the following bands, there is a very high probability the patient has borreliosis.

These bands are 18, 22, 23-25, 28, 30, 31, 34, 37, 39, 41, 83, and 93.

[---- from DR C's update from 2005 ---
----The significant antibodies, in my opinion, are the 18, 23-25, 28, 30, 31, 34, 39, 58, 66 and 93.----]

should be noted that I was on steroids thinking that I had only adrenal fatigue at the moment the test was run. My doctor was a supposed to be familiar with lyme/cfs/hormonal problems as well. He did diagnose me with cfs, thanks for the reply timaca.:-)

I have probably 70-80% of lyme symptoms, also aware that most of them can be thyroid/cfs problems as well.

I've been going out shooting in the hills with my father since I was 3, spent alot of time outdoors at my grandfather's cabin in the woods. Started deer hunting when I was thirteen, used to go camping with friends all the time in my teens. My father used to hang deer up in our garage my whole childhood, although he used a pile of sawdust to collect the ticks, I remember seeing them.

I used alot of drugs in the teenage years, and that's also when alot of my problems started, so I am not sure. I've been reading lyme post's recently and seen that some people show up negative for quite a while, just searching for answers. I have also tested positive for herpes-6, and ebv. I know most of my hormones are low, and I am on medrol(right now), as it stops me from be extremely panicky all the time. Originally thought this was all hormonal related. Thanks for the replies though folks, I apppreciate it.

Maybe you want to try the new culture test. That is how I found out I have Bb conclusively, no question about it. The lab cultured Bb from my blood.

It is through Advanced Lab Services--I think that is the name. There are several threads on it; you might want to search.

Someone may come by with the link too. I don't know how to post it.

Good luck

Steroids suppress the immune system and will make it hard to get well if you have Lyme.

They will also skew a Western Blot test.

I would find an LLMD and/or get the test debilyn mentioned. Sounds like you had all the risk factors for having Lyme.

Most "CFS" has a cause .. like a lyme infection.

here is one link on the test:

I think it's time to stop guessing with Igenex and start using Advanced Lab Services.

I had 2 neg Western Blots (got one band to light up once) and 3 neg ELISA tests.

My doc diagnosed me with Lyme and Bartonella based on symptoms. She tells me that the tests only look for certain strains of the bug, and miss many others.

I am getting better on antibiotics; that's the real test.
