I'm a long time lymie. I have been treated for lyme, babesia, and bartonella ( although bart was never officially confirmed).
A couple of months ago I was treated for tularemia with doxy hyclate, plaquenil, factive and nystatin and also abab, abart and cryptolepis.....treatment worked and I felt really well for a while.
Unfortunately, I have gone through a very stressful period lately, and I am now having the following symptoms:
moderate fatigue....lower part of legs and arms feel weak and a little like they're not there and/or blood is not circulating well there..... I feel some fullness and/or pressure in my head especially on top of my head.....feeling a little mentally confused..... concentration is not good.....experiencing not quite dizzy but off balance feeling..... upon waking in the a.m. I have a warm/somewhat sweaty tingly feeling which lasts for a few minutes (this is a symptom I have had for a while which did subside when I was under abx treatment a couple of months ago)...... .......mild nausea and gnawing/burning feeling in stomach at times....... tongue feels strange somewhat rough and a little white.......have noticed that I feel a little better at night (i.e. mentally clearer) especially after taking my doses of cryptolepis (restarted abab and abart and cryptolepis last week after a break of a 1 1/2 months).
At this point I don't know if my current symptoms are related to a possible relapse of lyme infections, yeast overgrowth (have made some poor diet choices lately) parasites.
These symptoms could possibly relate to a b12 deficiency (I have MTHFR, one copy, and high b12 /folate levels .....I know MTHFR inhibits effective b12 absorption and high levels may indicate that b12 is not being absorbed.....no doctor thinks this is true......currently doing bloodwork to check methamalonic acid, intrinsic factor and antiparietal cell antibody to try to uncover this deficiency.
What love to hear your thoughts about these symptoms. Thank you all so much for your help.

It can be hard to tell which symptoms are from which infection, but to me many of your symptoms sound like Babesiosis. You say Cryptolepsis is helping, and it is used to treat Babs.
Have you ever had your adrenal function tested? From what I understand, saliva testing is better for this than blood testing. Sometimes when a person feels better at night, it could be adrenal related. Do you sleep okay?

Also look to yeast.
Sorry you had to be back here!!

Thank you Sammi for your input......Yes I had my adrenal function (saliva) tested last summer ......found that cortisol level was high in the a.m.....I think results leaned toward mild adrenal fatigue. for the most part I sleep ok although I do get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
Yes I am aware that cryptolepis hits babs.....I hope it's really going to help me.
Thanks, Lymetoo.....I am seriously considering yeast and going back on strict anticandida diet.

Google parasite symptoms and check the list at Humaworm. Parasites/worms are often an overlooked co-infection of lyme even by LLMDs.
Check out www.lymephotos.com A lot of these ticks are carrying the Filarial worm infection and it is being ignored by most docs.

Thank you Lymetoo!
Thank you Gael for your info.....I agree that parasites may be part of the picture......I will check out lymephotos. However, with my MTHFR C677T issue I'm afraid to do any of the parasite cleanses etc. because of possible detoxing issues.....I'm still trying to figure out how to treat this gene mutation.

JJ29, you may want to test your adrenal function again. It may have changed since last summer.
Did you take any supplements for the high cortisol in the morning?

You make a good point, Sammi, my adrenal function may have changed since last summer.....I should probably retest.
I don't think I took any supplements for the high cortisol last summer because I found out I had another lyme infection and once I was treated I felt better.
What supplements are good for adrenals?

I think which supplements are best depend on your test results.
I was tested through my Lyme doctor. Based on my results, I was prescribed three different supplements. I could tell a difference only two weeks after starting them. I have never had supplements work so fast.
My guess would be babesia -- especially with the combo of fatigue, dizziness and nausea.
Personally if you have already done cryptolepis then I would add at least one more herbal or med to that this time around. I have seen a couple of times lately that Buhner suggests combining cryptolepis and sida acuta.
Artemisinin would be another herbal choice.

Steve, thanks for the link to a very interesting article about adrenal support supplements....I may try some of the supplements.
Sammi, thanks for the link.....can you share what the three supplements were that you took?
Thank you Bea for your recommendations..... I think it could be babesia as well.....combining cryptolepis and sida acuta sounds interesting....I will ask my llmd about it.
I also have two unsused bottles of Zhang's artemisiae that I tried to use a while ago but had a negative reaction to it and stopped it....I will ask llmd if I should try it again.

If you had a negative reaction to it means you have babesia.
If you try , mepron , malarone, artemisin , bactrim and you react from it you have Babesia.
Now they added cryptolepsis and Sida acuta ( last one is that I have not used it ).

Thanks Manybites for your input......it's good to know that my reaction to artemisin may have been due to the fact that it was killing babesia.
I have been a several abx combos for babesia in the past and have felt better for a little while but I guess it's still in my system.
