Saw the new PC doctor several weeks ago and now he is questioning is it Lyme or MS ?

After 12 years get a dx of Lyme now he thinks I have an auto-immune disease could be MS not lyme.

Anyone been down this road? After reading about the symptoms they are so alike... Oh, dear..

Lyme can mimic ANY disease. Are you seeing an LLMD? If you have a diagnosis of lyme you need to try and find a PCP that is lyme friendly or will work with your LLMD.

Lyme causes AI issues, diabetes, etc...all kinds of major problems. Hope you have a good doc [Smile] .

Thnaks for you replies.. I was seeing a LLMD but can't afford her now so seeing the new pcp who is lyme friendly and he hasn't ruled lyme out but think there are so many other things going on.

So he wants his own test etc.. He says we are starting with baby steps but mean while I am still on the meds that the LLMD recommended .. So far no great improvement after almost tow years, a few good days and a lot of bad ones but thank God no worse.

I am 69 so there could be some age issues as well. I like him and he is not against long term abx.. Very opened minded..and interestd in lyme and insist I take the meds..

I see him in a couple of weeks to see what next.

You are very lucky to have a lyme friendly PCP. If he is that open minded you may want to print out this link and bring it to him:

Good luck to you, please pursue the antibiotic route. I wish I had with my mom and father in law, both diagnosed with Alzheimer's and now in final stages in their 80s. Whenenver they get abx for other infections, they seem more alert. I think they both had lyme.

They are too far gone for treatment now. Small doses of abx can help so start slow. I was dxd with ALS two years ago and have been doing well on meds. I'm 51.
