Anybody have any idea why my sodium levels would drop the same week i started iv zithromax? I have hyponatremia and am taking lasix and 6,000 mg salt already, my salt dropped 9 points in a week when i started zithro. Psych symptoms when sodium is off, electrolytes, am already on fluid restriction 32 oz.

Zithromax (azithromycin) may possibly cause some people to develop hyponatremia and SIADH (syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone) secretion.
And by the way, numerous things can affect the body's production of ADH such as drugs, amount of exercise, and even your eating and drinking habits.

Are you craving salt? When I crave salt and my sodium is low, my adrenals are off.

Hi, Lasix can cause hypernatremia, (high sodium), usually not low sodium. Lasix causes diuresis, water loss through the urine, so your blood sodium is more concentrated causing hypernatremia.
Definately sounds like something else causing hyponatremia.
And you can definately have psych symptoms with low sodium.
