Has anyone experienced more pain when taking

Curcumin? My LLMD had me switch from Turmeric & I

am taking 875mg twice a day with food. It is

Curcumin Complex from Swanson Vitamins. My pains

and headaches seem to have worsened since I

switched. Any ideas? Thanks for any help

My current ABX are Doxy, Flagyl, and Rifampin. [bonk]

TuTu's question is key. Other ingredients?

Drinking lots of water, throughout the day (approx. 3 quarts - no less than 2.5, no more than 4)? It's important.

For those with gallbladder stress, the less strong Turmeric is better tolerated. Curcumin is the stronger extract of Turmeric.

But the results you report don't really sound gallbladder related. Maybe it would help to cut back the dose to get used to it gradually.

Taking it with a meal smight help.

The active ingredients are Curcumin, Demethoxy

Curcumin, Bisdemethoxy Curcumin, and Bioperine

Nature's Thermonutrient Other ingredients are

Gelatin, magnesium sterate, and silica. I drink

plenty of water, don't have my gallbladder and

started at just 1 pill per day for the first week.

Thanks

Well, if it makes you feel worse, this just might not be the one for you.

I can't take anything with Bioperine in it on an empty stomach (it works best in the middle of a meal for me -- still, I don't feel great with this kind of formula and steer to other choices instead.

Or you might try a different brand without that.

While Bioperine (pepper) is fabulous help for absorption & circulation, even if all this looks excellent on paper, it just may be that you need something different.

There are other choices to achieve the same thing.

If for circulation, you might consider GOTU KOLA (not a cola).

Thanks to TuTu, it's clear to see that NOW's brand is minus the pepper ingredient. That would be my next move and just see if there's a difference.

If the brand that does not work for was purchased at your doctor's office, they should take that back and credit you for it.

Or, you may be able to better tolerate the pepper brand later on. Maybe alternate.

My ND has a fabulous return policy. So do many supplement vendors.

I don't have my gallbladder either and I could not tolerate tumeric or curcumin at all.

It just may not be the right thing for you.

Magnesium stearate can be irritating as well for some people.

Also, be aware that it's a blood thinner. My mom was put on Enhansa and recently had blood drawn and it was like a geyser.

Dr called manufacturer and they said it could be a rare side effect and to stop immediately.

Nonna - curcumin/tuneric is an anti-inflammatory. It works wonders for a lot of people.

I don't have a gallbladder. No trouble after about 2 yrs of taking it.

Stick with SIMPLE formulations. At least that is what I have to do. The more additives and extra ingredients, the more likely I am to have a reaction to something.
