My dr. gave me bias in and plaquenil extended release, and told me this would be less likely to cause overgrowth of yeast then regular biaxin and plaquenil. He told me to take the meds at night. But when I looked on the bottles when I got them from my pharmacy i noticed that it says "take on tablet once a day for five days, then twice a day after". So do you think he made a mistake on the bottle and what he meant Is one tablet once a day, then two tablets ONCE a day in the evenings?
I ask because I know he usually has the same protocol for most of his patients. Was wondering if someone from mass. Could reply and tell me what he meant.

Best to simply call his office to confirm, but it sounds as if he's building you up as far as abx levels, so I'd say 2 together in the evening is what he wants you on. Lyme bugs are always better fought when dosing all at once for the day, esp. w/ extended release tabs.
Are you on an anti-yeast 'med' as well? The 2 most commonly prescribed are Nystatin and Diflucan. I prefer the latter as it can be taken very few days rather than every day. And it also weakens the Lyme bugs to boot.

He's simply building you up so to speak, easier on the body then to hit you with the full dose all at once. dr. d I presume?
