We all know that killing lyme and cos and detox should make us feel better EVENTUALLY. I was just wondering if anyone had any remedies that make you feel a little better now?

For me starting minerals made me feel good but that plateaued. Any little hints for feeling better now?

It's one of those days and I could use a "little better" now. lol I'm sure we all could.

I'm not sure I have a thyroid problem but my symptoms point to hypo thyroid. I had it tested about a yr ago and it was normal but i don't know how extensive the test was and if things could have changed since then.

Would it hurt to try something for thyroid issues from the health store just to see if it helps?

Thyroid testing isn't always conclusive, because the "normal" range is so broad.

Do you have cold hands and feet a lot? Or feel cold when the room temperature shouldn't warrant it? Extreme lethargy is another symptom - but difficult to differentiate when you have Lyme.

You might try adding some natural seaweed (as in sushi, or Japanese seaweed salad), or kelp tablets, to see if it helps.

Seaweed can be nice but remember that is has its own natural MSG and can be a bit too stimulating too late in the day - or too much.

Those with a seizure condition may need to go very low on seaweed.

Start with a tiny serving and see how it works for you. Of course, always best with other foods.

A bit of seaweed is very good in MISO SOUP (but be sure the miso a rice base and not barley base. Barley contains gluten).

Autny lynn, I do get cold hands and feet. That symptom went away for a little while but recently came back. Which I thought odd because it is summer now. Yes I could say I have lethargy, but it feels more like my whole body is heavy and weak, no energy. I guess that qualifies.

I get hot flashes randomly just being still and sometimes it seems to be brought on by being "active" (as in not laying on the couch)or what others would call walking or moving. Not long after that I will be cold. I am not menopausal, I am 26 but I imagine this is what menopause feels like. All the sudden burning up.

Thanks for the tip it would be good to just get one thing under control. If i do have thyroid issues and could relieve some symptoms that would be great. Would iodoral work as well?

Eating more sugar, eating more carbs and eating a little more salt and drinking ALOT LESS water/fluids than I used to is what has made me feel better. And no, I am not joking about that. These eating fluid intake changes have been near miraculous for me.


And Gigimac and others that have cold hands and feet, for what it is worth, you might want try to some of Matt Stone's dietary suggestions such as drinking less water/fluids at certain times of the day...... especially in the morning hours. And try eating more carbs and even eating more sugar and a little more salt.


For years I had cold hands and feet but drinking less water and eating more carbs, eating more pure sugar and eating a little more salt has completely cured the coldness in my hands and feet. And alot of my other health problems have also improved as well.

emla999 Thanks for the info.! I do drink tons of water, probably close to a gallon a day, so i guess that could be a consideration. I think I get enough carbs. I could probably use more sea salt.

Sugar? I could quite happily increase my sugar!! but it goes against everything I have heard on here.

I will check out Matt Stone's suggestions.

I'm taking fish oil with very high EPA, 2000 mg of EPA daily.
This is reduces the pain and headaches also.

A gallon!!! That sounds like me up to year or so ago. For many years I used to drink alot of water/fluids and now, in hindsight and in my opinion, that was a big mistake on my part. A BIG mistake. And yes, I know that alot of people suggest that you should not eat sugar. And that's exactly what I done for many years and all that I got was worse as a result. I have been diagnosed with candida, lyme disease, toxic mold, heavy metals and a host of other problems. But when I started to drink alot less water and eat more carbs, sugar, salt, and calories, my health FINALLY started to get better.

**Matt jokes around alot in his videos and blog but in my opinion his suggestions on fluid intake, food intake, metabolism and body temperature could potentially be helpful to alot of people.


Apparently, I was drinking so much water I was causing myself to become mildly overhydrated and mildly water intoxicated. Mild water intoxication seems to be able can cause alot of health problems that many people would attribute to other conditions such as chronic lyme disease, mold toxicity, heavy metal toxicity and etc.


And as I keep saying in alot of my posts..... a refractometer and a conductivity meter have been very useful to me in determining how much and when I should drink fluids/water. And how much and when I should eat more sugar and/or more salt. Both of those devices are easy to use and not all that expensive.

Liver support and anything to boost glutathione

I think this is the key to correcting any infection and suspect most of us here are genetically disposed to be poor glutathione makers which renders us helpless .

I think this may be the reason so many swallow
years of pills and are still ill - immune system does not work along with the meds. My theory anyway .

I have tried tons of stuff over the years. I finally got mad and quit cutting sugar, caffeine and acidic stuff from my diet and actually started feeling better.

Too much is still very bad, but I am finally starting to remember what I'm fighting to get back.

My theory is that my diet had me acidic, which helped candida and Lyme. I went hard alkaline, hurt those two and opened the door for bart. Still researching to see if that is likely.

Tons of abx and supplements have gotten me here, but what is keeping me here is working out/physical therapy, I cannot stress strongly enough how much that helps, eating tons of meat (unintentionally tested that theory last week), and raw garlic.

I cut out green tea due to the night sweats, cut back half of my supplements (which kept me going in the past), got out in the sun, got way too hot, worked too hard, crashed really hard then came back feeling better once I finally had it in me to get off the couch.

I don't think there is a magic pattern that works, I think everyone is different and there are dozens, if not hundreds, of different strains of this damn bug. I finally just quit trying to do what everyone says and did what felt right to me.

Nettle leaf powder - for joint pain.

Sleep - I feel best while asleep, but often wake up feeling terrible (worse than before going to bed).

Avoiding gluten, other food allergens, sulfites.

Low protein diet (because of the CBS gene mutation).

Not eating/drinking (water, LOL!) too close to going to bed.

Taking a gentle walk every day when I can, but not pushing myself too hard with it...

Escaping into a novel.
