IgM antibodies are the first antibodies to be produced in the body in response to an infection, and is produced in great quantity. IgM antibodies are large, up to six times larger than the IgG antibodies.

IgM antibodies, when present in high numbers, represent a new active infection or an existing infection that has become reactivated. Over time, the number of IgM antibodies will decline as the active infection is resolved.

So just cuz IgG might not be as high as IgM... Does not mean doc shoulf ignore results

What you say is true for most infections. However, in the context of Lyme, this isn't always the case.

Lyme bacteria have the ability to change the outer surface proteins to which the human body makes antibodies. Since the bacteria are always changing, the human body has to make new IgM antibodies all the time.

So in chronic Lyme, it is actually very common to see a much stronger response on IgM than on IgG.

Both mine are high... My doc didnt wanna do anything bout it tho, thats why i started investigatin more and ppl here gave me info and doctors too. More ppl need to kno and understand Lyme... We need more doctors that treat us.

Ppl with Aids even get better treatment. And doctors accept insurance for that but not for Lyme. How crazy.... Lyme can kill too but we get the shaft
