The past few weeks ive been having very bad symptoms of low stomach acid
so as a test I took BETAINE HCL. it seems to be working. only problem is my stomach and upper gi is doing much better. ive only taken it for one day so far.
but i have alot of burning soreness around my belly button area. it feels even worse right now
Is this symptoms of an ulcer. I'm just so confused. I know the HCL is definatly helping but why is my around area my belly betton so sore right now
Does it take time for it to resolve? Is it going to take like a week of taking the HCL for my digestive system to completley go back to normal? I know low stoamch acid can casue alot of problems in your intestinal track
can someone please shed light so I know what I should do. The pain is intermittent. I did eat a meal 2 hours ago.
opinions are very welcome!

Best treatment for H pylori is flagyl.
Do you feel pain when your stomach is empty, and feel better after eating?
Or, do you have pain that starts within 30 minutes after eating?
The answers to these questions are helpful in pinpointing what part of your digestive tract is involved.
The belly button area is a little low for most ulcers, but if eating makes it feel better it COULD be a duodenal ulcer.
Are you having any fever, nausea or vomiting? Diarrhea?

If the pain/burning started after starting the betaine hcl I would stop it??? Are you doing this under the guidance of a physician?
Have you been tested for H. Pylori? Supposedly te breath test is the most accurate. Or, mine showed up on a stool test through Metametrix.
Sounds to me like you are doing a lot of guessing and (please correct me if I'm wrong) self medicating? Not judging, I've done it myself plenty of times.
