Can you have Bartonella without the red streak type rash or the little blister looking type?
I have had a couple types of rashes. At the time I had not been outdoors and we don't have any bugs in our house to speak of.
One type is individual red welt (like a mosquito bite size) but has a pricking sensation along with itching sensation. Had one or several at a time on ankles or lower leg area. Takes forever to heal. Left a purple spot almost forever too.
OR
I have had a cluster of red small bumps (flea bite size) covering a 4 " area under shoulder blade. Prickly and itchy. Took over a month to heal. Sometimes still feels prickly and itchy in that area.
My ankle area has got a lot of purple or red spider veins while sick. Also my legs have quite suddenly got a dime size or nickle size little patch of spider veins in random spots. Skin nerves must be hypersensitive cause I felt them (pricking sensation) before I saw them.
Do not think from what I have read that any of this sounds like Bart but wanted your thoughts.

My provider was just mentioning to me that "spider veins" on your ankle (maybe elsewhere, too, but I have them on my ankles) can be a atypical presentation of Bartonella.

Yes I get these "mesquito bite marks" on ankles from Bartonella.
Bart loves the calves, gut, brain.

My doc saw those "mosquito like bite marks" on my ankles at an exam and did not know what to think. I will be sure to mention what you told me.

I need to know someone was diagnosed with Bartonella w/o the classic rashes.
The fact that I never had the red streaks or blister type bumps stopped me in the past to pursue this further.
I assumed you HAD to have them to have Bart.

Nope, never had the rash or streaks.
Now I did have some strange lines on my stomach once when I did A-Bart but they went away as quickly as they came.
Bartonella is a tricky, tricky infection. If your doc is suspicious, then treat it.

My daughter's initial rash looked a little like ringworm and was all over the shins. It disappeared with time or treatment for Lyme.
Doctor is now treating her for bartonella (rifampin, doxy, A-Bart). The streaks have appeared and disappeared within a day or so. So, i think they come and go.

I didn't ge tany kind of a rash until I started Bactrim DS, then I got red blisters on my fingers, they would dry up, itch go away, and pop up someplace else on my fingers....

I do recall now that when I began one of my antibiotic regimes many years ago I had little red blood spots appear on palm of my hands/inside areas of fingers.
At the time the doc I had then had just put me on heparin (under my tongue) so I thought it was a reaction to it.
Doc said "no, that would not do that." Now I wonder if it could have been Bart back then?
Thinking after reading your posts and some articles that it seems like when your body has an initial reaction to any drug the Bart symptoms surface.
Could a person have Bart for 10+ years without knowing it? I have been on various antibiotics most of those years. Mino, Doxy, Azith, Tindamax combos.
We do have Lyme ticks in our neighborhood. IE. One neighbor, who is very knowledgeable retired veterinarian college professor, after a few months of treatment for Lyme had to put a beloved dog down recently.
Or could there be another answer for those red blood spots surfacing on my palms/fingers I am wondering?

Reading Dr. S.'s online book about Bart. he mentions hypo & hyper pigmentation.
I just suddenly got a lot of this last year on my neck and backs of my hands.
After years of Doxy I figured it was induced by that. Been off Doxy for a month and it didn't go away.
Kind of a weird pattern the way it is in joined blotches but it isn't specifically the descriptive clam shell look.
I don't fit into his checklist (only have about 20 out of about 100 but another checklist called the "common symptoms of bart" I do have almost each and every one of those.
