I have postural tachycardia but lately I am also getting some heart racing after eating.

I feel something in my stomach first and then my heart speeds up. I feel it slow down and then speed up again as I get another surge, or what feels like one.

Sometimes I get just one, other times a few before it calms down.

It makes me feel anxious but anxiety is not causing this.

Could this be a surge of adrenaline?

Mostly seems to happen with lunch.

I have been tested to rule out an adrenal tumor and my doctor has no idea what is causing this.

Any ideas how to stop it?

I take a very low dose beta blocker already and cannot take more due to low blood pressure.

Thanks!

Could be some kind of circulation imbalance. When you eat, greater demand is placed on the circulatory system for blood to come to the GI tract.

If you already have low blood pressure, then the body is trying to regulate blood flow in the setting of insufficient volume and increased demand.

Are you dehydrated?

Does it happen with certain foods? Sometimes it can be an intolerance or sensitivity to a food or an ingredient.

Maybe it is poor digestion.

My other thought would be it has something to do with the nervous system. You have the postural tachycardia so that wouldn't seem to far off.

How high does your heart rate get?

I get the same thing, it is annoying and I have asked about it before...I have read some about it and I believe it can be related to a candida infection. CB

I don't think it is an allergy - maybe related to carbs?

I do believe it could be the nervous system.

Only twice has it been high and stayed up there for awhile. It usually goes up to the 120-130 range and then goes back down slowly.

Even if it doesn't race much - like stays under 100 - I get butterfly like feelings in my stomach.

I've even had these without eating and had it happen a few times.

I'll have to check for candida. I've been eating a very clean diet - could it be die off from that?

I am definitely not dehydrated, unless the water is not working well in me. I drink between 2-3 liters a day plus more overnight.

This is an interesting article - here is the link

I think I will try eating less carbs and smaller meals and see what happens.

I don't think I have heartburn but I am starting doxy soon so that may change!

How were you able to post the html link?

This website usually doesn't allow me to do that.
