Can someone please tell me their experiences with artemesia?

Did you herx hard?

Did you see improvements??

Should you start out slow.

Anyone have anything to add?

Yes I did herx. I added to Biaxin a couple years back when my "LLMD" swore I did not have Babs.

It did seem to help but did not get rid of it compeletly.

My current LLMD has me starting it again next week along with other Babs meds.

I started with 100 mg.s X/3 day and worked up to 600 mg.s a day.

Artemisinin (basically a stronger "extract") was hard for me to tolerate as it seemed to "wire" my nervous system too much.

Still, as this was just part of an overall protocol, I was able to make some adjustments with some of the supportive herbs.

But the whole raw herb (in capsule) of Artemesia annua was much easier to tolerate - as it was not the stronger "extract" form, less strong.

I really needed both, though. Each has advantages.

I cannot say that I saw improvement either of the two times I took Artemisinin for 40 days. But I have many different tick-borne infections and not able to obtain full care. It's a patchwork plan. Not the best.

At that time, it was thought that two, separate 40-day cycles would be enough - as part of a protocol - to address babesia.

Now, we know that is not long enough. It can take many months, at best.

Q: Should you start out slow?

Always.

It's important to know that any babesia treatment MUST be a combination approach. Rotation is often helpful, too.

Assuming you are asking because of babesia, you might also consider asking your LL doctor about this as part of your plan:

Hey keebler. I already did 3 months of crypto and 7 months of malarone. We're changing this out for crypto

Oh, I see. Rotation time. Hope your new plan gets you there.

Be sure to take liver support as artemisinin requires the Cytochrome P-450 liver detox pathway and that is often overwhelmed with lyme. Liver support really helps.

More detail here on what can help that pathway so that it might be easier on you:

I am on artemisia since October along with other abx. I did not herx at all and I am seeing some improvement, but because I am taking mix of medcs I am unable to tell you if artemisia is making any difference. It surely helped with my digestion. Also I was quite dizzy and it could be caused by artemisia as well, but I took mino at the same time, which is known for this side effect.
