I think my raw oral mucosa and tongue are an allergic reaction to Bactrim, but also could be due to folate or B12 deficiency. I'm thinking a combination of the two, like my folate finally got low enough to show these symptoms.
I've been on folate depleting meds for years!
I do take B vitamins, but I've kind of slacked lately.
Just started Folapro and sublingual B12.

Please be careful if you test positive for the MTHFR gene you must take Folinic acid and not Folic acid...

I think Deplin is good for this

Yes, I take Deplin and do methylcobalamin injections every day.

That is interesting. I read protomyxzoa uses up folate. F uses malarone to treat protomyxzoa and maybe the fact it depletes the folate is one way it inhibits it's growth. I was worried about supplementing it when I learned it likes folate - decided to take it anyway.
The hydroxyl B12 has really helped me. More energy.
Bactrim can cause a dangerous reaction called stevens-johnson syndrome which causes inflammation, rash and lesions of the mouth and body. It can be lethal. Look it up.

Just another good reason for us to remember our supplements.
