I'm just wondering if you believe that Fish Oil helps you at all? I'm taking the Pure Encapsulations Fish Oil, and although I see no benefits yet, there is an aftertaste that I don't like at all.

I'm going to keep taking them, just wondering if any of you are experiencing any benefits?

I don't think fish oil is something that hits you and you feel better. I think it helps your body to heal damaged cells. It also promotes healthy brain function and some say it helps repair damaged brain cells. I cannot say how true that is, but I have been doing a lot better since I started taking QUALITY fish oils. whenever I take blue Ice fermented cod liver oil, I nbotice a big difference. Really good stuff, but its too expensive, so I cannot take it all the time.

I think Fish Oil particularly Cod liver oil has major benefits and shouldnt be a supp that we skip.

When I first began taking fish oil, I didn't like the fishy burps.
We used to camp by a lake when I was a girl, and I remember the aroma of dead fish at the water's edge.
Blech.

Then I tried Carlson's lemon flavored fish oil, what a difference.

Now I'm taking an orange flavored fish oil that is very high in EPA.
I can notice a reduction in joint pain and headaches.

Fish oil will reduce inflammation and "thin" the blood, and it improves the integrity of cell wall membranes.
Because of this, more oxygen and nutrients can pass through cell walls, and the ATP in the mitochondria can make energy like they are supposed to.

The cells function better, and you have less pain and more energy.

I read a tip in a magazine: keep the fish oil in the freezer.

By time it thaws, it is past the burping fish taste stage. Works for us.

derk,
You may need to try a fish oil that has a high ratio of EPA.
And you may need to increase your dose.

Some fish oils that have a very high ratio of EPA include:

Minami Nutrition, MorEPA Supercritical Omega-3 Fish Oil, Orange Flavor,
with 580 mg of EPA per softgel

Country Life, Omega 3 Mood,
with 500 mg of EPA per softgel

Source Naturals, ArcticPure EPA, 500 mg, Lemon Flavor,
with 500 mg of EPA per softgel
http://www.iherb.com/Source-Naturals-ArcticPure-EPA-500-mg-Lemon-Flavor-60-Softgels/1451

Source Naturals, Arctic Pure, Omega-3 1125 Fish Oil,
with 687 mg of EPA per softgel
http://www.iherb.com/Source-Naturals-Arctic-Pure-Omega-3-1125-Fish-Oil-1125-mg-60-Softgels/38657

I can notice a difference when I take 4 capsules daily of the Minami MorEPA.

My son uses Omega Brite.

But, i was going to give him one adult capsule a day, not the children's liquid.

I'm not sure if this is too much. have been trying to reach them but their return call ia always missed.

He's 82 pounds.

Anyone have any thoughts on this.

We are dealing with hyperactivity and HD behavior since GSE.

Been almost 8 months. He's on nothing else except a multivitamin.

Any thoughts welcome-

How else can one get these essential fats if one is allergic to fish and fish oil, and does not tolerate nuts/seeds or nut/seed oils well either?

And if one has Hemophilia, would the blood thinning properties of the fish oil be a bad thing?

If I take it with food, I don't get the fish burpy taste.
