So after this week's experience stopping meds and doing a Coartem pulse, I think it definintely proves that Babs is still in the mix for me.
Question is, can Babs cause twitching? I see twitching is mostly associated with Bart/Lyme.
Just wondering....

Twitching is associated with lyme, bart, and low magnesium (from lyme disease).
So, when you get twitching, I suggest you really load up on mag from a good source (like MagTab SR) and see if it goes away. It should only take a few days to do this experiment.
From Burrascano:
"Magnesium deficiency is very often present and quite severe. Hyperreflexia, muscle twitches, myocardial irritability, poor stamina and recurrent tight muscle spasms are clues to this deficiency." (page 6)
"MAGNESIUM (required) Magnesium supplementation is very helpful for the tremors, twitches, cramps, muscle soreness, heart skips and weakness. It may also help in energy level and cognition. The best source is magnesium L-lactate dehydrate (Mag-tab SR, sold by Niche Pharmaceuticals: 1-800-677-0355, and available at Wal-Mart." (page 28)

I guess it depends somewhat on how you define twitching.
Hubby has a Parkinsonian tremor that comes and goes and is definitely caused by his babesia or other bloodborne parasites. He also had dystonia and myoclonus from babesia when things get really bad.

My right-sided eyelid and cheek twitching is Babesia. It improves on Babesia meds.
I have not ruled in/out Fry bug. My twitching does respond to Ivermectin, as well.
I've never had twitching as part of Lyme or Bart symptoms, but I know we are all a little different.
Like you, Babesia has been the most difficult bug to kick. I relapse in days if I stop meds.
I expect I have a year of Mepron/Zith/Ivermectin/herbs ahead of me. My symptoms are minor when I'm on meds, but I don't want to undertreat.

I believe Babesia causes tremors, twitching, shaky feeling. I also never had twitching as part of Lyme or Bart that I remember. Now, that Im treating Babesia again and parasites I do, so I'd say its related...

Babesia definitely causes tremors and twitching. Hubby has babs

THanks all. So the answer is "maybe."
I tested completely negative on Dr. F's test. Direct quote from the blood side exam results. "NO ORGANISMS FOUND."
That includes FL1953, Hemobartonella, etc.

did you test for biofilms? FL1953 Test is a PCR. In Lyme only 30% of PCR are positiv. So negativ may not say much. Hemobartonella is usually detected if its there and you havent been on antibiotics at least for 4 weeks.

I have twitching that responds only to strong Lyme meds.
When I've had the twitching, it tends to occur most often in my face in the eye lid, cheek, or lip area. It can also happen anywhere else on the body like finger or toe or leg... It is not just something that I can feel, other people can see it happen. It is creepy and annoying!
What's worse is that if the twitching is in my face, I will usually have some facial drooping in that area. If I stop my Lyme meds this symptom can come back within just a few days.
I also get hand tremors, they get worse when I'm tired. I don't know what causes this. People like to point this symptom out to me, like I can control the tremors and make them stop! If I could do that then I would not let my hands shake in the first place!!!

For me Babesia causes tremors and "shakiness". My hands would shake constantly. I'm only one month in on malarone and it's improved these symptoms dramatically...

I am currently taking the following: rifamphin, zith, mino, and ketek. When I started these last week I noticed the following symptoms:
eye lid and body spasms (moves around back, leg, arm) vision problem-i can see the letters/words on a page but I have trouble seeing them clearly-they aren't fuzzy but it makes me dizzy headache severe fatigue crazy hunger gained 7 pounds and look pregnant numbness and tingling down arms and legs
I have tested postive for lyme, bart, erlich, babs, and on the Fry test I tested positive for an organism but it's "undefined"
I'm trying to figure out what I am killing off. We thought all co's were done at this point-but I guess not..
thoughts?
