Have a Dr crowdsourcing on Twitter. Has pt w/both symptoms, but NO vesicles (herpes-like blisters). I should also mention that neck pain is SEVERE.
Wondering if anyone has had these sx together & if so which infections have been diagnosed.
TIA for any insight! Ali

LYME!!! Bell's Palsy is almost always Lyme (sometimes herpes, but much more rarely). And the extreme neck pain---Lyme! This patient better see an LLMD pronto! Or start with abx from a non-LLMD, and make an appt to see an LLMD ASAP. The dr and patient should be given the link for Dr. B's Guidelines (in a sticky at the top of this forum).

I had both - Bell's Palsy and the severity in the occiput that lasted for several years. I had six co-infections: Borrelia, Bartonella, Babesia, Ehrlichiosis, Nanobacteria, Chlamydia, and all major viruses. I had three months of abx - the rest with Dr. K. and alternative approaches. Heavy metal toxicity and dental toxins play a major role and unless treated, healing is difficult or impossible.
From my experience.

Rumigirl: Thanks so much for your input. The Dr is considering Lyme as a possibility for his pt.
GiGi: Thanks for that info! Wow, I never realized you had so many coinfxns too (((hugs))) I'll pass your list on to him. Were they all lab confirmed? I imagine he'll ask. Did you have any herpes blisters/shingles happening while you had those two sx?

In this case, Lyme is more than "something to consider." It is a surety! (I am not offering medical advice, simply the voice of long experience).
For good Lyme and co-infection treatment, this patient will need someone with long experience will all Tick-Borne Infections---ILADS trained. That may not go over well to tell this dr that, but if he has humility, he would start the patient on abx, take it in stride, and let them go on to a good LLMD. ( realize many drs are not long on humility, however).

I had a very minor herpes zoster breakout after my first Neural Therapy treatment. Herpes is always underneath Lyme and Co. - per Dr. K.
