I need help deciding the next step for my dd... We just received her Igenex results back:
IgM: 41 IND 89-93 IND
IgG: 39 + 41+++
IFA neg, serum neg, whole blood neg
I breastfed when I had symptoms... And I may have been infected when pregnant. Does this warrant a ped LLMD appt? We live in TX.
She does not have a ton of symptoms but she is very impulsive...her positive bands are very similar to my positives...weird. I am hoping she just has exposure to my antibodies but does not have Lyme.

What are her symptoms? Do they cycle? Keep a chart.
Common symptoms during first year of child born to mother with lyme (they are very common in kids in general, so usually just regarded as normal) include cradle cap, reflux, high fevers with no known cause, croup, irritability, sensitivity issues (doesn't like loud noises or bright light, could be sensitive to materials and or food selections). Also, constipation and headaches. As they get older, they may be exercise averse as their feet and/or legs hurt.
IMO, if your child has lyme, then once school comes along he/she will get strep. This may or maynot get remedied with antibiotics. Most likely, it will take a few courses. Be vigilant about getting strep out of the house. If ANYONE in the house gets it, get everyone tested immediately.

My DD's LLMD says if he sees Band 93 even IND he diagnoses Lyme. There are papers on it if you google it. Some Bands like 41 do not mean as much as 93. Personally if it were me, due to your childs age, I would bring her to Dr. J. in CT. For a child this young you really need the best pediatric expert. There may be some in CA but I do not have any names. Good luck.

If I had known 19 years ago what I know now, I would have treated my 2 year old. Neither of my children really showed symptoms at young ages. At 5 one child developed migraines. It was going into puberty that brought everything out. For my youngest and sickest, I would have done anything to avoid the life changing symptoms he is having now.
I would have traveled across the country and sold our home to have prevented what we have experienced in the last 2 years.
My sister has decided to treat her 6 year old son who has similar IgeneX labs to your child's and a few symptoms. He is young and he won't need treatment long. He is taking herbs and supplements also.
I wish you the best. The decisions are not easy. Nothing about Lyme is easy!

if he has 41 hes positive and 83 and 93 ind, thats exactly what i had pos, im all neurological, good luck, oh ya 41 is the protien flagyl from bb, its like a faint fingerprint at a crime scene faint or indeterminate its still a finger print, wish you well

I want to sincerely thank everybody for all the feedback. It was physically painful to see her Western Blot results... and I was in a bit of denial at first - hoping she had my IgG antibodies from exposure and the IgM IND might just be artifact.
Funny - she has already had strep when she turned 2 years old... which is young for strep in kiddos. She has had some other red flags - many of which were listed above - esp light sensitivity, high fevers for a few days after starting antibiotics, a few behavior issues, random lymph node swelling, and lots of bloating.
We are calling Dr. J tomorrow - I have no idea how this will work distance wise and hopefully we don't have to wait too long to get an appointment.
I am almost afraid to ask this question but does anyone know if there is a risk of permament damage?

Permanent damage from the Lyme? I think she has a great chance of full recovery.

Another note on strep: strep "residue" can cause anxiety and/or ocd. So can lyme. If your regular pediatrician doesn't believe in lyme, then have the strep aso titer done. If her strep numbers are high, this may be a way to get her treated locally and more quickly.
One of my kids limped along with strep treatment before I could get her into an LLMD. Liquid zithromax, amoxicillian or ethromycin are all options. Which one works for your child is an educated guess.
