I was quoted $3000-4000 at a small town hospital which my LLMD uses near her clinic. Most of her patients have insurance, I do not as I am Canadian. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other places to have the picc line put in at a more reasonable cost. I am closer to WI, MN, etc. Thank you.

I had a PICC inserted in an outpatient clinic. Cost was around $650. and that is in the expensive NE. So shop around. I don't recall if that included the first dose of Rocephin

check "Vascualar Service" in yellow pages in a city just over the border. Start to finish it takes a few hours. The slow saline drip to make sure I wasn't allergic took the longest

good luck

My PICC placement cost about $1,500 total. This was partly paid by insurance.

When you plan to pay out of pocket, call all local hospitals to negotiate out of pocket prices. They may be willing to give you a reduced cash price if you are willing to pay up front. They may also work out a payment plan if finances are a problem.
