I'm guessing it's my meds, probably the Septra because my mom is allergic to sulfa drugs.

I have an email in to my Dr., and will stop taking everything, but in the meantime, what can I do?

The itching is nuts! Benadryl helps, but makes me stupid and puts me to sleep.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi. I had a very sdevere allergic reaction to mepron earlier in the year and the hives I had were HORRIFICALLY awful. if you add some baking soda to yr bathwater, it can help soothe the itching. Also do not use any warm water on yr body right now, lukewarm at best.

Aloe vera gel also helped my itching a bit. I hope that helps. Jess/

I remember putting caladryl all over my hives to ease the itching -

Might try one of the nondrowsy antihistamines like Zyrtec, Claritin or Allegra...

I have had horrible rashes. There is an antihistamine called periactin (prescription) which was the only a one to help the insane itching. It does make you sleepy, but I would take a 1/2 dose every 4 hours. And was able to function.

Also, I know this sounds crazy...but the last time I had an intense rash, out of desperation, I tried two homeopathic remedies I got at whole foods. Urtica urens and Apis. My rashes usually last for months... This one ws gone over the weekend. My understanding is homeopathy, doesn't do much good or bad if it's not the right remedy, but If you hit on the right one it's like unlocking a door.

Just follow the directions on the little blue container...
