I did a search on this and many postings are dated. There is a study that shows it to be the only oral macrolide that penetrates the BBB as efficiently as IV Rocephin or IM Bicillin - when used in combination with co-trimoxazole.
Do you know if there are any new studies on this? I would like to investigate and present to my LLNP if I can find more information on it.

I just finished a few weeks of Roxithromycin/Bactrim DS combo. It was a stronger die off than I'd had in a while and felt different but once that cleared up I felt decent for a few days or so then started to skid slightly. I ended up adding in Ceftin and that straightened me right out.
I would compare it to Biaxin/Ceftin combo but with a little stronger die off in the early going and more of the little electrical zap sensations in the head.
As usual, NOT the miracle cure I hoped for but effective.
