Yes, I'm back. It's been a year and a half since being healed from lyme and co, but I'm now ruling out a relapse. Symptoms are mild compared to the original infection.

My LLMD sent off blood cultures to Advanced Labs and the preliminary (14 day) results are "inconclusive". We have to wait 8 weeks for final report.

In my experience, if it's not negative, it must be positive, right?

Has anyone here had experience with this lab or similar results?

Thanks a bunch!

Wrong. Just means they haven't grown anything yet. Whether they will or not remains to be seen.

It's hard to wait but one just cannot guess the results this far ahead of the time required for the lab to do its job.

It may or may not be lyme flaring. Still, an ILADS educated LL doctor is the best for diagnostics IF they also know about other stealth infections - or conditions to consider.

Key: & / or whatever else - look at lyme, sure. That just makes sense as a strong long lasting remission can take a while. And reinfection is always possible, too.

Also look beyond, as it's not always lyme. It's good that you are attending to the matter, whatever turns out to be the point of focus.

Best of luck.

Diagnosing Lyme Disease (&/or whatever else is going on)

Other tick-borne infections and other chronic stealth infections - as well as certain conditions that can hold us back - are discussed here.

Timaca's thread has great detail on other stealth infections to consider such as Cpn, HHV-6, etc.

The good news, here, is that since you report "Symptoms are mild compared to the original infection" no matter what is going on, addressing this now should give you a good advantage.

Glad you did not wait any longer to check back in with your LLMD.

My sons were inconclusive and also negative 8 weeks later so you never know..what was the first round of lyme like for you? how long did you have it before treating and how long did you treat for?

15 years misdiagnosed. Treated with IV ABX with respected LLMD for almost 2 straight years. Healed from lyme but did no maintenance treatment. I was over it and out of money. Then in April, seizures, headaches, night sweats, major weight gain and still going on. Now testing for relapse.
