Hi, I've been taking levaquin and am having a lot of additional joint pain. My doctor told me to stop levaquin if I have additional pain like this, so I plan to stop.
I'm also on metradinazole right now, so my question is should I stop metranidazole as well at this time or keep taking it? My doctor is out of town and I've sent an email to him, but I don't anticipate hearing back this week. I would appreciate any advice!

I know no one can give medical advice, but I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

metronidizole does not give you joint pain like levoquin can, so I would continue with the metro and stop the levi

Just stop the levaquin.
The doc never said to stop metronidazole, so don't stop it. I agree that the metronidazole is not causing the joint pain. That side effect is definitely levaquin.
Metronidazole kills lyme in the cyst form, so keep taking it. The two meds have nothing to do with each other. You are taking the metro for lyme and the levaquin for bart.
Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks so much, WhitneyS and TF. That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure how the meds worked together. I appreciate your help!
