Has this ever caused your liver enzymes to be severely elevated? I ended up in hospital for IV fluids (it came down fairly quickly). I was taking biaxin, mepron, septra and then was trying to add the VSL (started at 1/4 packet and never more than that).

Felt very nauseated every time I took VSL. Of course primary thinks biaxin, but haven't talked to lyme doc yet. I have been taking above drugs for some time so only new thing was the VSL.

Thanks!

You may be detoxing from the probiotics. Some people have to start slowly. This is just a guess.

Any one of your abx can cause nausea but I hope you are taking the probiotics away from your abx at least 2-3 hours.

I put my VSL in applesauce or yogurt.

Are you taking any detox supplements like alpha lipoic acid or milk thistle? My liver enzymes go up if I don't use those two daily.

My enzymes were pretty severely elevated on Mepron. I think the infections themselves can also raise enzymes. That was the case for me.

The second time I took Mepron (in a double dose of the first) my liver enzymes stayed closer to normal.

How often were you checking your liver enzymes on Mepron? I had to go every week while on that.

Glutathione IV's keep my liver enzymes somewhat normal most of the time but I still have random elevations even when off all meds.

Was doing mepron and biaxin for many months then doubled mepron and added septra. Testing every month and all has been good. Lots of detox and other probiotics. But it seems like anytime I get more aggressive on gut biofilm I flood my body. Have to be very careful even with bolouke.

So I started what I thought was slow with VSL and got sick immediately. Anxious to see what LLMD says and how he will proceed. I felt like I was making good progress.

If my hunch is correct, may need to adjust protocol and work really hard on timing of enzymes and correct antibiotics for gut biofilm and get that load decreased -- feel like it is hindering my progress.

With all you are taking .. you are blaming the VSL????

You may be sensitive to DAIRY. I had to give up the VSL due to the dairy issue.

Mepron is most likely the cause.

It was not until I was on it for 4 months and went up to a double dose (for me it was double) and added ART that my always normal liver e.'s went elevated.

Once I stopped Mepron and ART everything went down to normal again. Not back on since babs symptoms are gone for now.

I was on VSL #3DS but could not handle it due to the dairy in it.

Oops! Somehow I missed the dairy in VSL. I don't do dairy! Thanks everyone!
