I am currently on IV rocephin (for the past 3 weeks) and the insurance doesn't cover it. I have been going in weekly to get peripheral lines. The medicine and supplies are over $900, not including the peripheral line insertion. Does anyone know of a cheaper yet effective antibiotic?
Thanks

I think rocephin is as cheap as it gets. Most of that cost is probably from supplies right?

Maybe someone can help you find a discount program for supplies...?

(PS i think we go to the same Dr)

Did you look into InfuServe America in Florida?

Also read this booklet

I think the author was from CA.

Effective is Key ... and IV Rocephin is what the top IDSA docs are using... especially if you have neurological involvement.

In fact your insurance SHOULD cover at least ONE month. If they are telling you no - you should file an appeal!

Here is a really good article about this:

Take a look around this well respected web site to learn lots more about Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.

I wish you the best.
