I woke up yesterday with terrible lower back pain. Mostly in around the SI hoint and also radiating into both sides of my buttock and outer upper thighs. I went to bed the night before feeling pretty good.

That day I did alot of cleaning and stuff, so not sure if I aggravated something, but these pains feel alot like how I felt when I was first diagnosed. Very discouragin as it is almost a yr to the day that I was bit.

I thought maybe it was a herx so I stopped my meds yesterday and was due for my bicillin shot but decided to hold off on that as well. I'm wondering since it has been now 2 full days without abx if it was a herx shouldn't I feel better?

I am currently on bicillin twice a week, mepron and zithromax. As well as magnesium and fish oil.

Very sorry to hear this. I have a flare up in the SI occasionally. It can be really bad, then it goes away. Usually it is from overdoing it .. or from eating potatoes or peanuts.

Both of those are "nightshades," which I try to avoid!!

hope you recover soon .. not sure about a herx or not ..?

I see a chiropractor who knows how to correct all imbalances, including the SI joint. If you did a lot of cleaning, you might have misaligned your joints a little. Only guessing...

Sounds like you had some type of a muscle strain from over-doing... It must be hard because the site of the bicillin injections is near your painful area.

If the area is inflamed, I would try using a cold pack (CVS sells something called "Frozen Peas" that can target different areas) along with ibuprofen. They both helped me GREATLY with a recent shoulder injury that was pinching some nerves to cause pain down my whole arm.

You might want to ask your LLNP if there is something else you can take instead of the bicillin until you are feeling better.

Hope your pain resolves soon. So sorry.

I have this to varying degrees always (after lyme infection). Overdoing it aggravates it, but, I do not believe it is the cause. I am also going to get tested for spondylsosis gene, to see if possibly the klibsiella bacteria is playing a part in it.

I actually feel worse since starting fish oil, not sure if there is a connection or not. I'm going to try a bath with epsom salts and go back to my lidoderm patches. I have not needed either one in so long, feel like I'm back where I started.
