So I have been having a really bad three weeks and my md wants me to change my medications but I am or was getting better with the combo I am on until I started lumborkinase and artemesia annua.
I have been on the same drugs and ramping them up over the past 8-9months I guess. IV claforan twice a day four days a week. Cipro septra and zithromax.
I have only been on the Septra for 4 months and the full dose of claforan 4 months.
My WBC and ANC dropped and I was very sick and had a low temp 99.0-100.0 everyday for three weeks.
Seems to have been from my normal lyme herx around the full moon but worsened from taking Lumbrokinase and artemesia annua.
My entire mucus membranes were raw. So painful!
So my md wanted me to stop cipro and see what happened. My foot pain and GI pain was back in 2 days. So restarted cipro and she wants me to take mino and then eventually rifampin.
So I would be on Claforan Zith,Cipro, Mino& Rifampin.
I don't know... i was slowly getting better and don't really want to change anything but it must be fear of going through what I did last winter starting all these meds. It was such a nightmare.
Isn't that a weird combo? I think she is going after bart harder and erlichia because of the continued immunosuppression. What do you guys think?
I also am having a lot of heart stuff and this shocking pain in my ankle and can't figure out if it's bart or babs and which one is more important to get first. I feel so upset I dont know what is going on.

Zithromax can cause heart problems!!!
The ankle pain could be from tendon damage .. cipro.
Lumbrokinase increases the effectiveness of any abx... so you will herx harder on it.
Thank you TuTu. I thought no one would respond. I don't really get a lot of answers most of the time I post. Maybe people don't like me on here very much?!
The pain in the ankle started before any tx at all. I have also had palpatations for years before tx but thanks for the information. I appreciate it.

I understand your hesitation in wanting to start a new treatment protocol. I'm always afraid that it will make me sicker than I already am!
During those times I have to remember that my current protocol is not working, that I am not well yet so I do really need to change and try something new.
So Spindleshanks, are you really doing better on your current antibiotic protocol? Or do you think maybe you've reached a plateau and now you need a change? Only you can know how you feel.
I think that the new protocol that your doctor has suggested would be strong and probably very effective if you could tolerate it. It would definitely take care of your Lyme and Bartonella and any other intracellular infections.
I actually wish that my doctor would prescribe a similar protocol for me
And please know that I'm one of those people that like you here so post away!!!

Haha that makes me feel better. Thank you. I am so brain dead lately that it's hard to handle change.
I guess I really won't be changing out that much... septra for minocycline and then adding in rifampin slowly because of my liver issues.
I just wish I knew what I was struggling with just like most here.
Good news my white count and absolute neutrophils are right back to normal. Amazing. Just from getting over the herx I guess or from stopping art and lumbrokinase. A question I might not figure out the answer to.
Thanks for the encouragement. How have you been Sammy?
