So hubby told me this morning that he thinks he is dying a slow death. Its time to prepare. I'm having some trouble processing this. No matter what drugs hes on, it improves a bit then plateaus. Hes been on every IV med under the sun. Is it time to give up?

No. Keep hoping and researching. Maybe try a different route- herbals, detox etc. so sorry your husband feels so down

I thought I too was dying and my body and face showed it.
I really perked up when I went on hormones and did three rounds of different parasite detox.
I also think doing nystatin and diflucan helped a lot.
I am still seeing what I think is yeast, but much less.
I was amazed in 2 months how much better I felt.
Maybe it is time for a new approach.

Hormones make a difference. Has he had any blood tests done on minerals? I thought I was dying a couple of months ago and found out my carnitine was really low. Also other minerals. Has he had his thyroid checked lately? If he is deficient in vitamins and minerals for his thyroid, it can cause this too.
Even trying other herbs like Beths suggested is a good idea. Sometimes just a change in routine of supplements or herbs helps me.
Improving, plateauing and going down hill is normal for lyme treatment. I improve one month, then downhill the next. Every other month I feel better with some some symptoms, and either go backwards with others, or plateau.
Tell him not to give up. This is the path to succeeding. Rotating herbs, supplements, probiotics helps. So does eating a variety of different colored fruit and veggies. It's really important to get all the antioxidants, vitamins, minerals we can get.

lyme-o,
It's absolutely not time to give up.
I feel the same way often...these diseases do feel like you can't possibly come out on the other side of it alive...but many on here completely recover.

- What is his liver support? His adrenal support?
And has he addressed parasites & heavy metals?
Is he gluten-free, dairy-free and GMO-free? Also basically free of all additives and processed foods? This really makes a difference in how we are able to manage treatment.
No need to reply - just the main questions to ask when anyone has a rough time of it. -

thanks guys. Just another tough day. Keebler, 3 liver supports, adrenal support, heavy metal detox currently, dairy free. Among other things.

I agree with Cozy.. make sure yeast is not an issue. It is a REAL health hazard and can make you very depressed. (among other things)
Hang in there and tell him not to give up!! Maybe you should plan a trip to Germany?

PLEASE check into treating for parasites/worms which can be a MAJOR co-infection of Lyme and often overlooked even by the best LLMDs. I was literally dying until I started antiparasitic herbs and salt/c.
It took several mos, and the I had a mass exodus of parasites as seen on www.lymephotos.com A lot of these ticks are carrying the Filarial Worm co-infection. Untreated parasites can be deadly.
It really is maddening that these docs don't have a clue about this infection! I keep posting about this because it saved my life! Check out the recent thread from bcb1200 about parasites.

Hi lyme-o,
If he's doing the detoxamin, etc heavy metal chelation, it can get brutal. I couldn't do it every 3 days, so I tried it every week...even that was too much, so I'm currently on a break from chelation.

Heavy metal chelation can make a person feel like they are dying (been there). He may need to do more than whatever he's currently doing to move the metals out of his body.
