My LLMD wants me to try Bicillin IM injections..I did a search and not much on here about it. Wondering your experiences, esp herxing? Cost? it seems Costco is the cheapest wondering if anyone found it cheaper.

Anything else I need to know when taking Bicillin would be helpful. I dont get alot of instruction from my doc. I saw someone post something about taking a cyst buster with it?

I have been on bicillin for 4 months. After about a month I began to see a big improvement in my symptoms.

Will your doc be training you on how to administer them? I did not receive any training and relied on this site as well as you tube videos for help. Not the scenario I would recommend.

We started out with my husband doing the injection in the dorsogluteal muscles for me, but that is a big area of muscle and nerve pain for me so I could not tolerate them there. I now do them in the ventrogluteal site myself twice a week.

I usually put a pack of frozen peas on the area I will be injecting into for about 10min and at the same time warm the injection under my arm. After the injection I apply a heating pad to the area for 10-15min.

As far as cyst busters go that depends on your doc. Mine did not have me on one with it as she felt I would not be able to handle the herxing it would bring at that time. I was on mepron and zithromax with it.

My husband has been on Bicillin injections for about 3 1/2 months now. Costco had the best price we could find. It costs about $61 per injection. He takes 10 a month. Ouch! in more ways than money too.

Be sure and ice down before being injected to help with some of the pain. Even though painful, he feels he is slowly improving with these shots. We watched a youtube video on the how to inject him.

Herxing: His muscle twitching increases. Has flu like symptoms. Very fatigued. He drinks lots of lemon water and takes extra magnesium when he feels really bad. He is always supplementing with detox herbs and various things to support his immune system in getting stronger.

All in all we attribute these shots to be apart of his improvement.

Note: He is also on Tinazadole and Clarythromycin.

I just finished 6 months of Bicillin 2x a week, husband gave injections after being taught by nurse at LLMD's office.

I never iced beforehand- just took it- iced afterward- never had a problem.

In the beginning, my Dr.s office was ordering through manufactor, paid full price, $ ouch.

Then put the script in my regular pharmacy, and my insurance paid for almost all of it (I paid $100. for a box)

Worth a try.

Yes, I took them w/ a cyst buster, Tindimax, pulsed.

thanks so much. Im looking forward to seeing if this helps, after i figure out how to pay for it. I dont have insurance [Frown] I tried to locate the manufacturer...looks like this drug isnt on any patient assistance program yet.

My LLMD never said anything about , or ordered a cyst buster....i wonder if it's necessary for it to work? Should I contact his office...geez Im kind of annoyed that they didnt say anything.

I have been on Bicillin-LA for three months.
2 ml 2x/week. (1.2 mu Penicillin G Benzathine.)
I think it may be helping.

Should I not be able to afford it in the future w/o insurance I would seriously consider trying
the Penicillin that is sold for animal use.

If folks are doing this and trying to keep it a secret from Big Pharma etc - please delete this post. Or someone advise me and I will.

It appears the livestock PenG (with Benzathine)is the same as Bicillin-CR?

Can be bought at feed stores and ordered online without Rx.

Each ml is 300,000 million units Penicillin G Benzathine and I think 300,000 mu Procaine Penicillin. Depending. One should research this.

Therefore one would need 4 ml to equal the 2 ml PenG-B in Bicillin-LA - if my calculations are correct. I would do 2 ml one location and 2 ml another location. Or maybe since it contains Lidocaine ? - 4 ml/location would be ok painwise. ?!

Dunno what gives with the Procaine Pen that is in it and not supposed to help with Lyme.
Would it be harmful to receive that part of the injection that is seemingly of no use?
(surely it has a use - but for what - if not Lyme and/or Syphlis)?

Obviously one cannot separate the PenG-B from the Pro-Pen.

The vials come for example in 100 mg for about $10. I would buy the smallest vials and use one needle to draw it up - change needles for the actual injection.

Of course an MD might "have a cow" (sorry) if it was known the patient was considering livestock Pen - or not.

They all have their own protocols as to when cyst busters are introduced. Mine told me if they had put me on a cyst buster aloong with what I was on they worried I would not be able to handle the pain. First they wanted to get the toxin load down enough to handle it.

I would call and as when they usually do it so you will have some peace of mind.

My insurance wouldn't cover the Bicillin either so my LLMD told me to buy the above pen G and all the research I have done says it's the same
