Has anyone tried biofeedback or hypnosis or something similar to manage pain with Lyme, or for anything else and have found that it was helpful? Please tell of your experience.

I have. You would save money by getting a CD from Dr. Jeffrey Thompson or Hemi-sync. The CDs are available on the internet. They work with similar principles & they are easier to do. You do not need to go to a doctor to do them. If you are interested - look into brainwave entrainment.

About 3years ago, I took an eight week session/course in biofeedback provided by grad students at a local university.

I think it was $80 or there about. They had machines with sensors that measured body temp, heart rate, and breathing rate.

They hooked me to the machine and then taught me (tried to teach) how to increase my body temp, slow my respirations, and slow my heart rate.

They did use CDs too, and I spent most of the session practicing the techniques, so I could change my body and move the machine readings.

Really, eight sessions wasn't enough to learn much, and I can't afford the biofeedback machine to measure progress.

I do, however, still use the "belly" breathing technique they taught me when I have bad anxiety or air hunger. I haven't been able to get it to work on my pain, though.
