My lyme doctor did my cd57 test in march 2011 and it was 17. Now, October 15, 2012 it came out at 20. I have been on medicine continuously for almost 19 months, why haven't this number gone up much. what is normal range? I cannot understand why this number never changes much on antibiotics. please help. Diana

Same thing happened to me recently- no change after what feels like a whole lot of treatment (45/44 my score.)
I know it is not a 100% reliable test- and have read it goes up at the end of treatment,
nonetheless, it was a big disappointment to me, too.
So I keep plugging away, hanging on to the gains I have made, and try and be patient.
I had these infections for well over a decade before I found out- Takes awhile to treat.
Have also heard cats claw can bring CD57 score up...

It depends on the lab. Lab Corps results are supposed to more reliable than Quest. While I was headed for a relapse my Quest CD57 was 125!!!!
Six months into my relapse Lab Corps tested at 56 which more accurately reflected what I was feeling.
My LLMD says he has send out the sample to Lab Corps and to Quest just out of curiosity. Quest can vary as much as 100 pts.

I had both tests done at the same lab- labcorp-
Yes, my LLMD made sure the 2nd test was from the same lab as my 1st test- good point.

At the ILADS conference, there was a talk about CD57 and a dr. did a sample study with patients and found that the standard deviation for CD57 was 60, even in the SAME day.
I think there are other variables with CD57...

same story - went from 38 DOWN to 19 after a year of aggressive treatment. Don't know what to make of it. Just trying to stay positive and have seen small improvement.
