Im still having trouble with yeast and trying to figure out why. Any ideas? I took it for months at first then started abx again and I am also taking 400 cfu's of probiotics a day. Now I was told by my doctor to get off the diflucan and only use it if I get a yeast infection then use it for only seven days until it is cleared up. Since i did that i have gotten yeast infections, like twice a month already. I know its the abx that causes the yeast but why am i so sensitive to them? I always have been, get yeast infections when i take them for a week or more. Do I have to stay on the diflucan until I'm done with my Lyme treatment ( which will be years I'm almost sure)? I am good with diet, and tried herbs but they just don't work as well as diflucan.

You know you shouldn't eat sugar or starchy vegetables, right? (I'm sure)

I think some of us are just more prone to yeast thean others. Sometimes hormones play a role as well. I have been on diflucan as well, and when I go off I feel the symptoms of yeast again.
I have heard that adding more fermented foods, without vinegar into your diet can help as well. If you have a good health food store near you perhaps you could chat with them as usually they are excellent at giving some advice.
Unfortunately for me the diflucan seems to increase my pain symtoms so much that I need to take breaks from it.
What meds are you on? Some, like rifampin mess with your other meds. I know when I use rifampin it messes with my estrogen which in turn makes me more prone to yeast.

I also have trouble with yeast even on the yeast free diet. My gyn said to take azo yeast pill 2-3x a day with the probiotics. She also said to start using Luvena a couple of times a week until the yeast was under control, then once a week. She also started me on Diflucan once a week for 12 weeks. I hope now that I have started the azo it will help.
I am on 2 VSL#3 at night plus 80billion probiotics in a.m. and p.m. and still get the yeast.

Some people have more issues with yeast than others. I personally think it's worse for people with heavy metals and parasites (that's me).
As far as diflucan goes, I eventually became immune to it. It barely did anything so I quit taking it and started incorporating more anti yeast supplements and upped my probiotics from 400 to 500 billion cultures a day.
Also compounded nystatin works 10x better than the pills, IMO. Fermented foods help put good bacteria in your gut--kombucha, kimchee. Also, rest helps too (this surprised me).
Chip away at the parasites (it helps). Every time I got bit by a tick, my yeast got worse (even ticks carry parasites). And by the way, IMO, the tests for parasites are weak.
