At the end of treatment, my lyme doc had me stay on the anti-yeast diet for an additional month.

To restore the gut, he had me take Florestor daily plus diflucan and nystatin.

That was it.

What is Florestor?

I was on Ceftinir and Sporanox for a month and now my stomach/digestive system is a mess.

I am so uncomfortable.

Did you stop the Lyme treatment while you were trying to heal your stomach?

After I posted I thought of a couple of other questions.

Did you get tested for H-pilori and SIBO?

I feel like my whole tract is infected or full of bacteria.

If so, what is the most accurate way to have it tested.

Did a mainstream Doc or Alternative test you?

Florastor is a probiotic

I got rid of lyme, babesiosis, and bartonella over 7 1/2 years ago. At the very end of my treatment, my lyme doctor then restored my gut.

The question was how was that done. Then, I gave the answer.

If all you have is a candida (yeast) infection in your gut, you don't have to stop lyme treatment to treat it. A good lyme doctor knows the symptoms of candida (white coating on tongue, bloating, abdominal pain, etc.) and will be able to diagnose you without any test.

There was no issue of H pylori or SIBO in my case. I followed the anti-yeast diet throughout my lyme treatment. If I ever got yeast, a few days of diflucan took care of it.

At the end of my treatment, my doc treated me as I stated above, just to be sure my gut was restored to normal.

Regarding h pylori, the symptoms of that are very different from yeast. My husband, who never had lyme, had h pylori. I diagnosed him based on his symptoms. Then, he went to a gastro who did an endoscopy (put a camera in his stomach) and took a sample of stomach tissue.

The sample tested positive for h pylori. The doc suspected it because it makes a red spot on the stomach in a certain place. The gastro treated my husband for the h pylori and it was gone.

His symptoms were terrible belching, waking up at night with horrible reflux, having to take anti-gas pills all the time, feeling like someone had jammed their arm down his throat.

As you can see, the symptoms are very different from candida.
