I was dxd with ALS but am wondering if I really have a mold allergy. My son has developed severe sinus/cough symptoms in the past few months. I don't have congestion but am slowly being paralyzed.
We had mold remediation done to our house last year and everything tested clean after the work was done. We live in a forested area, could it be outside mold giving us problems? How can we deal with that?

Mold can do this. Mold is toxic. Mold is not an allergy. Even if your house is remediated they may have missed something. Have a test done at the spot where you sleep. There can be an area of high mold not showing up in the overall test.F.e. your matress, behind the wall... What was your test results? You need almost 0.

The weekend ILADS conference had some info regarding mold. If I'm remembering correctly it was stated that the toxins would remain in your body despite remediation.
The treatment was cholestyramine to get it out of your body. They did say it is different than an allergy.

With an ALS diagnosis, have you been tested for mycoplasma fermentans? It can mimic Lyme, especially in clinical diagnosis situations. MDL labs in NJ is a reputable laboratory for mycoplasma testing.
