Recently I had the c reactive protein test. Normal score is around1.0... I am 103. My doc will repeat soon. Is this test used in Lyme diagnosis?

Useless for lyme diagnosis. It may help as more evidence of a current lyme infection and inflammation caused by lyme. Sounds like you are seeing a regular GP or ID dr...which are less than useless when it comes to lyme. You will need to find an LLMD.

Droid is correct-the c reactive protein test measures inflammation in your body. Lyme can certainly cause a hig c reactive protein (I have a high one due to lyme and various coinfections myself) as well as a high SED rate (another marker for inflammation).

The test itself is worthless for a lyme diagnosis. You do need to see a lyme literate physician if you are not doing so already.

You can have all sorts of weird things come up in blood tests with this illness, and it means less than nothing if you don't treat the underlying cause and you cannot do that without a LLMD.

Best of luck to you. Jess.

I had a normal CRP test result at a time when there had to have been much inflammation. So, I am doubting that anything definite can be said about its usefulness.

WOW!!! That puts you at a higher risk for a heart attack. I would be doing anything I could to address this with natural anti-inflammatories.

and make sure to get treated for the LYME and associated coinfections!! They created inflammation.

You can get the number down with supplements. Before I was diagnosed, mine all of a sudden went up. I had Lyme, but we hadn't figured that out yet.

Supplements brought that right down, but I also changed my diet. I eat for my blood type which avoids inflammatory foods for me. My number is low now.

Mangosteen works for sure. I also take curcumin.
