I don't know if my Lyme relapse is getting worse or if I am having a reaction to Mepron, been on Mepron and Penecillin for 2 weeks. I am thinking mmaybe I should push my MD to go on IV abx, In the past (6 other relapses) the only treatment that put the Lyme into some kind of remission has been IV Rocephrin..What do people think??

Did you start both medications at the same time? Are you sure you are reacting to the Mepron?
The ILADS conference had a doctor say that even though Rocephin is the gold standard, it doesn't completely get into cells and many relapse on it.
I know it works for a lot of people but it also seems to cause others to relapse after 3 months. I am one of those people.
There are guidelines for IV. They are being sick for more than a year, steroids given, being over 60 years old and of course severe neuro or heart involvement. I would add that malabsorption of foods and medicines to that list.
Many here have gone into remission on orals. Hopefully they will chime in here.
I had to go on IV as I had been sick for 10 years, had steroid involvement, couldn't remember anything and couldn't digest anything. IV certainly turned me around after I changed from Rocephin to Clindamycin. I am still on a bunch of orals too.
If I could get better on orals alone I would do it. It is much less expensive. I am hoping to get off IV in the next few months to do a trial run of orals.
You must also remember, that relapsing does happen and we don't always know why.

What symptoms are you having?
Are you taking a macrolide--such as Biaxin, Zithromax, or Ketek--with Mepron? It is my undestanding Mepron needs to be taken with one to be effective. You may want to look into this and talk with your doctor.
Mepron treats Babesiosis. Many Lyme doctors believe co-infections need to be treated first.
