Hi, I was just diagnosed with late stage lyme disease about a week ago, although I was originally tested about 6 years ago. I have pretty severe gastroparesis so taking oral antibiotics is going to be a challenge. Does anyone have any experience with this or some helpful hints on how to cope with the antibiotics. I am already feeling very sick and sore after a week of amoxicillin at a very low dose. Thank you.

- Welcome to LymeNet (but so sorry for the reason you are here). I hope you find what you need here.
Sorry, I can only read a few words in the first and in the last line. My eyes due somersaults with more than about 3.5 lines of solid text (for some reason, if text hits the end of a fourth line, it just turns to a swirl of grey patches -
so I'll leave it to others who should be able to read and to answer.
I do see (from your last line) that you are having trouble and feeling sick and sore from treatment.
Liver support is vital. Is that on board?
As you are in Oregon (where there are no LLMDs) I assume you are either seeing a LL naturopathic doctor (and if they are truly LL should have you on liver support) . . .
. . . or seeing a LLMD in California (as you are in Southern Oregon).
Either way, I wonder if you have the liver support you need. More detail:

- While you say you've already been diagnosed, there are some links here that offer basic treatment information - and some just for a good reference library of sorts.
Be sure to see Burrascano's treatment guidelines for the self-help sections, too. In the last links set below.
What ILADS is & WHY you need an ILADS "educated" or "minded" Lyme Literate doctor (whether MD or ND, or both) - starting with assessment / evaluation. -

hi-it is very slow here i guess cuz of holiday and weather
please keep coming back-the ones with your problem will chime in
keeb has given you a lot to start with...try not to get overwhelmed
lyme is complicated-docs dont agree...but here you will find a huge amount of experience
some docs will say you must take high dose abx
others strongly believe starting at very low dose is fine...even better than herxing badly. that is hard on you body
i did high dose abx in the beginning but later with certain drugs had to start with just a crumble...as long as i was herxing i kept on...in creasing a tiny bit. i had great results with both those drugs
if you want to focus in on your specific problems you can use the search at the top of the screen. its in tiny letters under post a poll
good luck. see you soon...im in a storm right now....
