Hi everyone...Well I just weighed myself for the first time in 5 days and I am still stuck at 87 lbs, down from 90 at my "peak". I am frustrated mainly because I have been eating a pretty good amount, and keeping all of it down. I still have massive nausea and lower GI upset, but it is definitely a great sign that I can keep all of my food down now.

I am trying not to be upset over the weight loss and my fiance keeps reminding me that when a person is under stress- even good stress like planning a wedding-that it is not uncommon to lose weight. He has lost 6 lbs himself recently which he attributes to "being in love" haha.

In all seriousness, I am thrilled I haven't lost but I just want my weight to go back to at least 90 again. Has anyone tried sunflower seed oil? I was thinking of trying that, sprinkled on some popcorn as a snack to try to add some more calories. Also, I am thinking of trying almond milk as a beverage again for some calories and nutrition. Any other ideas? Thanks. Jess.

You shouldn't be worried about a measly 3lbs because most of that amount was probably nothing more than a combination of water weight (from increased hydration), and an increase in fecal matter in your bowels.

The important thing is how you feel, and that you are eating healthy. Don't let such a small amount of weight loss drag you down!

Jess, having you been treated for parasites? I know babesia or the other parasites can cause weight loss-I lost a ton of weight when Ifirst fell ill.. just a thought. Hope you're having an 'ok' day!

Thanks tailfeathers, I hope you are ok today too. I do have babs, so I think that could be a weight loss factor with me. UGH..I miss being over 100 lbs.

And ticktoxic, thanks so much for the reassuring words. I just get so nervous with any weight loss but maybe you are right-the eating healthy and being able to keep food down again is more important than the few lbs I have lost recently.

Thanks again everyone. Jess.

Have you tried coconut oil? Also have you tried a strong anti-nausea like zofran?
I would also suggest a protein shake

Coconut milk sounds like a good option.

Be careful with too much coconut oil at a time, it may aggravate the slow stomach emptying (fats do this in general).

I am fighting with the weight loss as well. I am 5' 8" and I weigh 111lbs. I seem to be eating better but even when I feel like I am eating better and think I have gained weight, I continue to lose weight.

I am on a break from abx right now and I will start Mepron next week. I am nervous to see how I feel on that abx.

I do hope you can start putting some weight on as well but I agree with others, if you are feeling a little better, that is a good sign. Focus on continuing to improve and I bet as you improve your weight will begin to increase.

Good luck to you!!

Thank you so much Hanna for the encouraging response. And thank you Razzle for the info about the coconut oil. I def go easy on all fats because they absolutely do irritate and aggravate the gastroparesis symptoms. Thanks again everyone. Jess.

How tall are you?

At one point I was eating 4000 calories a day and dropping a pound a day and then finally leveling off.

Eat 2 avocados a day and measure out 2 cups of almonds. I would choke the whole 2 cups down before bed at night to add more calories. And almond butter. Eat a tablespoonful here and there too.

Protein shakes! Spirutein, vanilla, unsweetened. You can add stevia and whole milk or almond milk. Drink several a day in between meals.

If you are coldeat lots of warm, cooked food with olive oil on it.

Has your doctor checked you out for other illnesses as a precaution. Spontaneous weight loss can be a symptom of a serious illness. My llmd would not just assume the weight loss was lyme and ran many other tests to rule other things out. It frustrated me at the time but its a good precaution.

Feel better soon!

Treat the babesia and parasites and you wont have anymore weight loss issues. Simple!

Unsure, I am 5 feet 3. I weigh 87 lbs so I am rather underweight. I have also been through a ton of testing recently yet again and nothing shows up other than highly positive lyme and coinfection tests. Thanks for the dietary suggestions too, it is greatly appreciated!! Jess
